Chapter 1

CHPTR 1

After a while, Sonic had gotten used to being in Doctor Robotnik's lab; he was well-fed, he was taken care of and he was loved by the fox. Sonic actually liked the lair and didn't want to leave, but hearing the doctor on the phone made him anxious.

"Great, I'll send a fox your way," Doctor Robotnik finished talking on the phone before grinning, turning to the azure hedgehog who was annoying the ebony hedgehog, at this point, there were at least ten years old. "Get away from me, hedgehog," Shadow said sternly as he kept twitching his ears as Sonic tried to bite them. "Sonic." Doctor Robotnik said, walking up to him. 
  "Yes, doctor?" Sonic replied with a large grin on his face. The doctor pulled him by his scruff and tossed him to Gus, who was organizing all the robot parts in the storage room. "Ahh!" He shouted before falling to the ground. "I'm sorry for the aggressive statement sir but... What was that for!?" 

  "Take him to this location Gus." Robotnik said in his normal raspy voice that sprang off the storage room walls. "Yes, sir." Gus said sadly, grabbing the piece of paper that had an unfamiliar location.

Struggling to walk with small fragile legs, Gus picked the small blue hedgehog in his arms, going over to a small white house that had a small garden and a porch. Err, who would live here, it's basically run-down, Gus thought before hesitantly knocking on the door.
  The door opened to reveal an ivory hedgehog on the other side, Gus, nervously holding the azure hedgehog spoke up with a little crack in his voice as a small drop of sweat rolled down his dark-orange fur. "Are you... Silver the hedgehog?" 
 "I am, why?" Silver asked with a confused smile before looking over at the azure hedgehog who was trying to get out of the fox's grip.

  "Oh! you're the person on the phone talking about a blue prototype on the internet." Silver said in remembrance of the Doctor on the phone. "Y-yeah, well..."
 "Here, the exact amount," The ivory hedgehog handed Gus a bag filled with coins, up to the BRIM. "Woah! how much is in here?" Gus asked as he struggled to hold it up. "About... thirty thousand rings." Silver answered as his smile got a little wider.

30k for Sonic!? impossible, he's worth more than that!! Gus thought before handing Sonic over hesitantly. "H-hope you like your new... toy.." 
  "Thanks-"

"Silver!"

Silver looked inside before looking back outside, Gus was gone as if he disappeared. "Alright? Coming Blaze!" Silver shouted before looking at Sonic, he wasn't sad, but it was visible he was on the verge of tears as Gus ran off. "Don't cry bud, you'll be fine." Silver bent low to Sonic's height with a smile on his muzzle, Sonic jolted back as his ears lowered. 
   I guess they come as kids then, Silver thought before slowly going close to the other hedgehog, but failed as Sonic ran down the creaky stairs in a panic. "Hey! don't run off!" Silver said worriedly as Sonic ran away in another direction. Shoot, shoot, shit! Silver thought before floating behind him.

Where's Gus!? want him back! Sonic thought before running into a small city, houses and tall buildings peered over him while he whimpered. He ran deeper into the city, looking back to see if anyone followed or chased him before sighing. 
  Sonic kept running and kept looking back, he ran into a mobian, a faint 'oof' sound coming out from both their mouths. "Watch where ya going, kid!" They snapped before getting up and groaned, The poor little hedgehog was covered in dirt as he landed into a puddle, he was too scared to speak, only stuttered words came out his small muzzle as tears formed in his eyes.
  The rude mobian stepped into the puddle, splashing Sonic again, making him whimper and tears rolled down his muzzle like a waterfall.

"Hey, why are you in a puddle little hedgehog?" A small two-tailed fox held out his ungloved hands with a worried frown. Sonic sniffed, looking at the fox that looked so similar to the first fox he lived with, he stopped crying, tears still drying into his fur as he looked at the small mobian fox's hand. "G-gus?" Sonic mumbled, wiping his tears away.

The little fox chuckled a little bit before speaking again. "I'm Miles Prower, but you can call me Tails, what about you?" He said as Sonic took his hand. "People call me Sonic," Sonic said nervously with a smile. "Well... Nice to meet you Sonic!" Tails smiled widely as his tails swished around in the still breeze. 
  Sonic smiled again, his first friend.

Silver floated over the city, looking down at Sonic and Tails as they smiled and laughed before floating down. "Tails, shouldn't you be with your parents? it's about to turn dark." Silver nervously said, Tails looked at the setting sun and his ears perked up. "Oh right! uhm, bye Silver, bye Sonic!" He said, flying back into the city. 
  Sonic pouted at that and looked at Silver, who was making sure Tails went straight to his parents. "Why did you do that." Sonic asked, it didn't sound like a question to Silver and he replied a few minutes after. "His parents are over-protective,"
  "Why am I telling a kid this?" He mumbled to himself before picking Sonic up. "How about we go back to the house, you're probably hungry." Silver said and placed Sonic on his back and floated back to the house.

"Did you find him?" Blaze asked, opening the door for Silver as he spoke. "Yup, he was with Tails," 
  "Well, at least he was in good hands." Blaze sighed, gold eyes met with emerald before Sonic looked away and bounced up and down at the chili dog on the table. "You want this? Isn't it a little too spicy for a kid like you?" Silver said with a chuckled, Sonic frowned with a small growl and snatched the chili dog off the marble table. "Hey!" 
  The azure hedgehog stuck it in his small mouth, swallowing it whole before burping. "What the Chaos!?"

Blaze laughed quietly as the two argued over a Chili dog. "That was my lunch!"
  "Settle down boys, I'll make more." Blaze chuckled. A growl came out of Sonic's mouth but he smile at the cat's words, Silver's ears perked up with a large smile.

"YAY!"
