Arthur took off down the hall, his worn out converses slapping against the linoleum floor. His olive green book bag bounced behind him, loose sheets of paper threatening to fly away. Although he felt guilt for shoving past Alfred, he didn't have time to talk. Arthur was determined to make a mark on this school, make friends, and leave behind his old life back in the UK. He had thought he'd start by joining some clubs, but when the opportunity arose to volunteer for the homecoming committee, Arthur nearly pounced at the chance. All of the sudden, his surroundings instantaneously became aware to him. He had no idea where he was. Arthur stood there, defeated, before slowly trudging back towards his classroom. "Maybe that one fellow will still be there." Arthur thought with hope. Just as he was turning the corner, Alfred came barreling around like a madman. "WHAT THE HE-" But that's all that escaped poor Arthur's mouth before being crushed by the massive american teen that now lay on top of him. Alfred began propping himself up. "Dude I am so sorry!" Alfred said, a blush rising in his cheeks. His face was extremely close to Arthur's. Alfred quickly scrambled to his feet before doing anything weird, his face turning a fierce red. Arthur had rosy cheeks too, but more influenced by anger than the sexual tension. "It's fine, but do be careful in the future. Why are you in such a hurry?" Arthur spoke as calmly as he could muster whilst collecting himself. "Actually, I was looking for you, bro. You left this in homeroom!" Alfred spat out nervously, stretching his arm out which held Arthur's permission slip. Alfred attempted flipping his bangs to seem chill but ended up banging his head on the wall next to him. Arthur's expression changed from bitter to beaming when he laid eyes on the permission slip. "Thank you so much! I didn't even know I was missing this!" Arthur spoke cheerfully, stuffing the pink paper into his cramped book bag. "Well I have to go! Can't be late to class!" Alfred lied. He didn't have to be at his next class for at least ten more minutes. Alfred just couldn't bare the awkwardness he felt towards Arthur. It's not that he didn't like Arthur, no, it's just a feeling he acquired just now. Alfred turned on his heel and started awkwardly shuffling away from the british boy, but was stopped in his tracks. "Wait!" Arthur called to Alfred's back. His call rang through the corridor, echoing loudly. Alfred debated pretending to had not heard him but he didn't have the guts to do something that rude. "Yeah?" Alfred asked shakely, facing Arthur. After adjusting his bag on his shoulder, Arthur spoke with a confidence he didn't know he had and said, "I'm trying to find the Library but this school is more confusing than Dumbledore's sexuality."
//A:N In the Harry Potter book series, it is mentioned in the books that Dumbledore is straight and single. J.K. Rowling commented in an interview, however, that he is Asexual (google it).//
Alfred (who pretended to understand Arthur's reference) decided wanted to keep up a cool image, so he boasted, "I know right! It's like someone just scribbled," he made an awkward hand motion of mad scribbles, "a map and said 'Yep! Perfect!'" Arthur giggled at the american's dorkiness. He pushed a strand of hair behind his pierced ear. A nervous grin spread across Alfred's face. Alfred slicked back his ashy blonde hair and shuffled his feet insecurely. "Would you like me to take you to the Library?" Alfred muttered, not making eye contact. A blush threatened to make a reappearance. "That would be very much appreciated, thank you!" Arthur jingled. Alfred began walking past Arthur when he motioned for him to follow. And so they began their trek, bound for the Library, side by side. "Finally," Arthur thought to himself, "I have the chance to make a friend."
