The next day

Lucas

I woke up the next day and I found new town. It was small and obviously abandoned but I was still cautious of infected. Suddenly I heard a loud boom.

Lucas - "I hope that sound is a good one."

I walked towards the direction of the sound, I saw a clicker.

Lucas - (Whispering) "Shit."

The clicker didn't see me. It slowly walked towards me then suddenly it exploded.

Lucas - "What the fuck?"

I looked closely and I realized it was a trap.

Lucas - "Okay, I gotta be really careful."

I slowly and carefully watched for traps. I entered a building then suddenly, something wrapped around my foot and I was hanging upside down.

Lucas - "Shit!"

(Screeching)

Lucas - "Shit! Shit! Shit!"

I quickly pulled my knife out and cut myself down.

"Get off your ass and move!"

I got up and followed the person. There were lots of infected and clickers running after us.

"In here, now! Quick!"

We barricaded the doors.

Lucas - (Breathing Heavily) "Thank you."

"Got on your knees."

Lucas - "What?"

"I said get on your knees now."

Lucas - "Okay, okay."

"Don't temp me. Are you infected? Anything sprouting?"

Lucas - "Goddammit, I'm clean!"

I quickly grabbed the pipe off the table swatted the gun out of his hand.

"Ah!"

Lucas - "Now, who are you?"

"Who am I? You come into my home, you set off all my traps and your asking me me for my name? Nuh uh. Why are you here, kid?"

Lucas - "I'm looking for my friends."

(Laughs) "I don't know if you realize but look around you, kid. It's the fucking apocalypse. You might not find them. Ever."

Lucas - "Look asshole, you're not the only one who's killing these things, I am too. The whole world is."

"Exactly my point. You may never find your friends again because the whole world has gone to shit 5 fucking years ago."

Lucas - "I believe they're still out there fighting like me waiting for me."

(Sigh) "Kid, I can tell you're strong and brave and that's a good thing but at some point you need to stop believing and let go."

Lucas - "I can't. I won't."

(Sigh) "There's a bed in the cellar. You can sleep there. Names Bill."

Lucas - "Lucas."

Bill - "I want you out of here by tomorrow, understand?"

Lucas - "Yes."
