She was alone in her living room, but her ears were ringing from his voice.

"This feels a little too real."

She stretched her jaw to ease her ears. Her nose still felt like she was smelling the mustiness. She knew that wasn't from her dinner.

"Maybe I should start taking my vitamins again."

She saw the time was midnight, just like the previous night.

Last night, she didn't feel dirty after her hallucination of sex. Tonight she did, and she took a long shower.

"The first guy was definitely the better guy for sex. Watch him be the asshole, and the other guy be the nice one."

She laughed at the idea of it while she slipped between her sheets.

"Maybe I shouldn't do anything to stop these hallucinations. They're better than my life."

However, her dreams weren't good, and she woke feeling more tired than when she had gone to bed.

Her Sunday was quiet. No phone calls. No texts. She didn't even receive a single email. And no more hallucinations. She cleaned and sorted through a few boxes she had put off when she moved in two years ago. All of it was stuff she could either toss or give away. She made a pile to donate.

During her days of going to the bars, she never felt like she had a lot of time. Now it felt heavy on her hands. All the little tasks she always put off got done, like replacing the light bulb in the light over the front door.

She packed a lunch for the next day and set out what she was going to wear. Suits were out. If she was going to sit at a desk all day, she didn't need to look that professional, despite what she had heard about dressing for success. A year and a half of wearing suits hadn't changed her job in the slightest. All the promotions were going to the guys, like the idiot she was now doing documentation for.

When she went to bed at her usual time, she wondered if she would wake up at midnight and if she would find herself with yet another man. However, she didn't remember waking up, but she had dreams about the two men. She was starting to not like the second one.

In the morning, the weather was damp and chilly for her walk to the subway. This subway station didn't have that many commuters. At least not at this hour. She found a seat to wait, knowing the train would be there soon. Her timing was always perfect.

The station rattled from the approaching train. She rose, felt dizzy, and stumbled.

"Are you okay?" It was a familiar male voice.

"Are you okay?"

Kara looked up to see a woman leaning over her.

"I think so. I must have tripped." She stood and brushed herself off, only to see her train take off. "Damn. There goes my train."

"Here, you dropped this." The woman handed over her lunch bag.

"Thanks."

Kara sat back down. The next train was in fifteen minutes. She would be a little late. However, she didn't care. She was feeling concerned about the dizziness and the hallucinations again.

The station was more crowded by the time the next train arrived. And so was the train. Normally, she could find a seat. This time, she couldn't. She hoped she wouldn't get dizzy and fall over.

Her ride and her subsequent walk to work felt surreal. When she reached her desk, she found she had scrapped a hole in her slacks from when she fell. Her knee had a red patch, but that was it.
