I open my eyes and look at everyone watching me as I am laying on the ground. I look at my hands, no longer red. There tan with nails not claws. I extend my claws and then retract them. Just like I remember them. I look at the crowd. "She did it." I say as I look through them looking for the one person I needed at that moment. She is not in the crowd. Panic sets in. "Annie" Once I say her name, everyone looks around, then I hear a panic scream. I stand up now realizing I am naked, but I don't give a flying fuck. I look and Dawn is yelling at the guard to pick someone up. Then I see who it is. One of the Guards picks her up.
"No, you will not touch her, give her to me." I say he hands her to me. I just stare at her, there is so much blood and she is not moving. Her skin color looks pale, and it does not look like she is breathing. I scream and roar with anger. "No, you can't be gone." I look at her face, and gently move her hair away from her face. "My beautiful Annie." In my lost state I did not see Dawn come up behind me.
"King, get her to the med bay NOW" Dawn yells at me snapping me out of my trance. "She is still alive." Hope filled in me, and I ran her to the med bay.
"Please do not die on me, please" I say feeling the tears falling from my eyes.
2 hours later I pace the waiting room. Dawn comes out.
"We stopped the bleeding" she says. "But she is in a coma."
"Will she be ok" I ask
"I don't know, only time will tell. We have her hooked up to machines to keep her alive, so her body will be fine. It is just her sole we have to hope returns to us." The news takes me to my knees. I can't lose my Annie.
"There is something else I need to tell you." She says "I learned something interesting from her labs." She walks to me and takes my hand. "You may want to sit down for this."
