The room was cold, my long sleeve shirt wasn't warming me at all. I look around at all the students typing notes on their laptops and others watching the professor intently. The two kids next to me talked continuously so there was no point in trying to pay attention. I glance at the clock hoping it would read 1:50, it didn't, it read 1:30. I lay my head down of the cool table as the professor continued talking about who knows what. I soon heard soft snickering next to me. I look up to see the two next to me with earbuds in watching something.

I lay my head back down waiting for the class to end. Once it does I get to my last class of the day. Math was my least favorite and it made it worse that he wanted us to work in groups, and even though 90% of the time I knew they weren't I always felt like my group was whispering about me. Like maybe they didn't like me because I didn't contribute to the discussion. But it was honestly because I didn't want to give an answer and sound stupid. "What number did we stop on?" The girl next to me asks. "I'm on 32" I say. "I'm at 22" One girl says. "Me too" Another says.

I look down at my paper and skim through the text as they work in the group. About half an hour passes when they speak to me again. "Since you did 27 already what did you get?" She asks. "I got 8" I say softly. "Really, how?" She asks. I knew she wasn't trying to be mean, and I'm sure the tone of her voice came off the wrong way to me but once she said it my throat closed up. She looks at me waiting for an explanation. I look between my notes and the textbook. "Umm.. there's eight counts and eight placements so technically you'd have eight options to put your first number" I explain. "Oh, I see, thanks" She says writing in her notes.

Classes finally end and I head to sit in the library. I always book a study room so that I don't have to sit around the other kids and be all insecure and weird. I sit in the room and try to focus on finishing my work when my phone rings.

{jongsuk 💗 calling}

My heart flutters as I read the caller ID. I quickly pick up the phone. "Hello" I smile into the phone. "Hey, how are you?" Jongsuk asks. "I'm okay, just doing some homework, what are you doing?" I ask. "I'm on the plane right now, should be home by tomorrow morning" He says. "That's great!" I smile. "I've missed you"

"I've missed you too, but I'll be back before you know it" He says. "Of course" I say. "Have you eaten today?" He asks me. "Yeah I had a small lunch about an hour or so ago" I say. "Well, make sure you eat a big dinner then" He says, I can hear him smiling. "I will" I smile. "Alright, I'll let you get back to your homework" He says. "Ok, see you soon" I say. "See you soon" He says. As I hang up a soft knock comes from the door. I see two girls standing outside. I crack open the door. "Yes?" I ask quietly. "We have this study room booked" She says showing me her confirmation. I looked at it a bit confused as I had it booked for another hour. She shakes her phone waiting for a response. "Right, I'm sorry, one second" I grab all of my things and walk out.

My face is red with embarrassment as I speed walk out of the library. The cold air hits my face making me feel a bit better. I walk into the lounge and decide to sit there for a while before I decided to go home. I watch several couples walk in and several groups of friends sit and talk about different classes. My heart sunk as more and more groups of people would come in sit for a while and then leave together. Was I just missing Jongsuk? That must be what it is. I shook it off and return to my work.

I watch two freshman walk in and sit on the bright orange sofa. "I know, she could've at least gave me that one point to boost my grade, and now I'm failing" One says throwing a bag on the floor. "Remind me not to take that class" The other says falling back onto the sofa. It's silent as I continue working and the two scroll on their phones. "Did you hear who I met?" She asks popping up. "Who?" The boy asks looking at her. She quickly turns her phone to him showing her with what looked like a kpop idol. "Who's that?" He asks. She looks at him with wide eyes. "That is Jackson Wang, you know GOT7" She says. He glances from the phone to her. "That's not him" He says. She looks at the picture. "Yes it is, he even signed my album!"

"No, I think he just wanted the attention, Jackson's hair is blonde right now" He smiles. She looks at the brown haired guy. Her head falls in her hands as she screams in frustration. I put in some earbuds and hear her faintly say "he signed my album"

I felt my eyes well up. Why was I getting teary eyed? It's not like I got scammed. I look over and watch the boy comfort the girl. My throat closes up again just like it had done earlier that day. I feel myself about to cry and start to throw things into my bag. The two look up at me confused as I rush to the nearest bathroom. I had soon realized I was not just missing Jongsuk, but missing having a friend. I only had like 4 friends from school, one transferred to a different school and doesn't really text, the other is friends with the other two and when we hang out at school I'm not really included in the conversation. I close the stall and sit against the wall. It sounds stupid to want someone to vent to about small things like the weather or a professor you don't like, but that's all I wanted.. and I couldn't even seem to ever talk to anyone.

I look at the picture he sent before quickly turning around. "Hey" He smiles widely. I instantly start sobbing. "Is everything okay?" He asks hugging me. "Yeah, I'm just really happy to see you" I say, my head in his chest. "I'll make sure not to leave you for so long again" He says smiling.

I smile hugging him tightly. "What do you say about grabbing dinner?" he asks. I nod "Alright, let's go then"
