It's the afternoon of Earlyween at Griffin Rock, and the Burns family were getting ready for an eventful night. In the open garage, Katilyn and Dani sat at a table covered in pumpkin mush and surrounded by pumpkins. Each female was working on their orange fruit, carving different designs. Dani was going for a more classic Jack-o-lantern look, while Katilyn decided on a howling wolf.
The female fighter huffed, "My arm is already getting tired, and we have four more to carve." Her sister nodded, whipping an arm over her forehead, "If only we had help."
As if waiting for that moment, Graham walked around the corner holding a power tool. "It might go faster if you have better tools," he announced.
Both females stared at the saw machine in shock. "Will that even work?" Dani questioned nervously.
"Of course, it will. Here, let me show you," the engineer remarked, plugging the tool into a nearby socket. He revved it a few times before looking at them expectantly, "May I have a pumpkin, preferably one already gutted."
Dani reluctantly handed hers over, "Alright, but don't mess up my baby, Jeffery."
"Jeffery? You named it?" Graham gazed at her in disbelief.
Katilyn cut in, "Of course! We're forming the pumpkins to our design, so we get the right to name them. We're its mother."
Graham shook his head before straightening his shoulders, "You might want to wear eye protection."
Once the three responders got safety goggles, Graham began cutting into Dani's pumpkin, Jeffery. The pilot clung to Katilyn as she anxiously watched. Graham skillfully carved out a triangle eye before moving on to the next one. After a few minutes went by, and the engineer stepped back to reveal a perfectly carved jack-o-lantern. "Ta-da!"
Both female responders inspected the pumpkin with a critical eye before nodding to their brother. "You did a good job." Dani praised, setting a candle inside Jeffery before setting him onto the ground.
"Now, who wants to give it a go?" the younger brother asked, holding out the reciprocating saw to them.
They looked at each other warily before Katilyn shrugged, "I'll try, but fair warning, it might not look the best." After positioning her pumpkin in the correct spot, Katilyn hesitantly turned the saw on. She yelped in surprise when the vibrations shot up her arms. When the shock resided, Katilyn pressed the saw along the guidelines. Once the firefighter realized it was easy, she grinned wildly, "This is awesome!"
As the trio tackled the pumpkin carving part, Graham started to bring in more tools. One was to quickly gut the pumpkin, while another was to cut the perfect hole on top.
"We are never going back to the old fashion way, now," Dani remarked as she cut into her other baby, Johnny.
Katilyn laughed as some seeds jumped out of the pumpkin she was gutting, "I know!"
