''That was close'' I muttered as I managed to control the car after dodgin a brown cat on the road. The music on the radio stoped and the speaker started reading breaking news about a robbery downtown. Around a half an hour ago, a couple of hooded men, gun in hand, had entered the new sports shop and they had managed to scape with all the money and some 500$ worth items. Hopefully there were no injured people.
When I finally found a place to park the car, I grabbed my backpack from the backseat and I checked everything was on it. I stepped out of the car and put on my earphones. I was waiting for the traffic light to turn green next to an old lady who wouldn't stop staring at me. I guessed the woman wasn't used to see everday a green hair girl, with tattoed arms and ripped jeans. When the light traffic turned green, she practiacally ran away from me as if I was going to kill her. I couldn't help laughing. I walked through some streets more and arrived to my destination.
Rams Head Live was surrounded by thousands of somewhat noisy people waiting in line to enter the venue. Some of them were sat on the cold floor and some were standing up. Some of them were singing and some of them were talking. I saw two girls turning around to talk to a shy lonely boy behind them and I smiled. They didn't even knew the guy, but they were trying for the time to go by quickier for him. I looked through the crowd trying to find a familiar face. A couple of minutes later I spotted my best friend, his back lying against the wall, having a smoke. I waved at him and he greated me with a smile when I got to him.
''You ready for this?'' he asked.
''I've never been this ready before'' I smiled and I started jumping lightly.
''What are you doing?'' he wondered.
''What? It's cold, I'm just trying to warm up''.
''Here'' he said laughing and taking off his black leather jacket.
''Thanks'' I smiled lightly.
As we waited for the doors to open we talked about everything and anything. At some point someone started singing 'a capella' one of the songs of the band we were going to see tonight, and soon we were all singing together. When we finished, we all started clapping. As we began to get bored, I took out my phone and started using the camera. I did some photos with the people waiting in the qeue next to us and some others with my best friend, making funny faces. Suddenly we heard a girly scream. The doors had been opened. I searched for my ticket in my backpack and started walking nervously towards the entrance as the people avanced.
I felt my friend's hand grabbing mine as we handed our tickets to the bodyguard and we started running, trying to get as near as posible to the stage. We ended up in the center of the fith row. Soon the room was completely full and it was quite hote inside it, so I didn't longer need my friend's jacket – which I put inside my backpack. About twenty minutes later the lights went off and the support act walked into the stage.
After they played some songs, we had to wait for another five minutes. Then the room went completely black and it was filled with the sound of the drums, which I could feel travelling through my hole body. The lights started flashing and soon, the drums were followed by the guitars and the bass. The lights focused on the lead singer as the lyrics started.
''Jump!'' he shouted and we all did as told.
When the song ended it was soon followed by another. The whole crowd was singing along and jumping like crazy, some of them were even crying. I could notice an extrange feeling that flew through me, navigating through my veins as a ship sails the Atlantic Ocean. And I knew it was something you can only live in a show. You can only feel this when you are surrounded by hundreds of people who treat you as if they've always known you, as if you were part of their family because, for them, I was. That's the magic of music. People, who may not have anything in comon, fit together like a puzzel thanks to the lyrics that had helped them through the hardest moments in their lives. The smile wouldn't left my lips.
And then, THAT song started. The song that had saved my life. The song I was listening the day my best friend saved me from myself. Tears starting flowing down my cheeks, someone cleaned them away for me. I looked up, my eyes were met by two deep blue oceans. My best friend hugged me tightly and he whispered the lyrics to the song next to my ear.
When the song finished, I stared into the floor. He placed his hand carefully under my chin, making me look into his eyes and he got closer to me. I closed my eyes instinctively and felt his soft lips pressing against mine. I felt him smiling into the kiss when I kissed him back. As our lips moved tenderly, his arms wrapped around my waist and mine around his neck, linking my fingers through his silky dark hair. I started to feel my lungs screaming for oxygen, so I pushed him away gently. He pressed our foreheads together making me smile.
''Thank you so much for coming tonight to see us Baltimore! This is our last song. See you next time, we love you!'' the singer screamed, that's when I noticed we still were at the venue.
Once again, I felt the strange feeling running through my veins. I started singing along together with the rest of the crowd and the band. My best friend's hand grabbed mine and we started jumping together. I had never felt this happy before in my whole short life. Defenitely, it was the best night of my life.
I wrote this piece of crap for my English class and I felt like posting it, so I did. Although there are no names, I pictured Misha Collins as the best friend and Of Mice & Men as the band while writing this (don't ask me why cause if got no idea), so yeah... I got a fucking 10 for this, yep I'm proud of myself on this one.
