You bolted across the rooftops of buildings in New York under the gloomy but beautifully painted star-scattered sky. Your identity was almost revealed to your enemy as you tried to eavesdrop on a supposed plan the squad had. Until the red turtle, Raph caught you peeking right over them on top of the building. But luckily before he had the time to turn around and start the chase you'd already bounced.

You grew tired too fast, the bottom of your shoes scrapping against the concrete fighting to not make you trip. Your legs failing you as you turned your head back to see them catching up. You weren't technically trained for this job. You were just a high schooler interested in mutants who was a last-minute recruit for the foot clan as they thought you were fit as an info collector.

As you neared your apartment Leo was about to grab the back of your foot clan-marked jumpsuit, until you remembered you left your window open. You forcefully pushed yourself to use every ounce of your energy to run across the rooftop of one more building. Jumping down onto the staircase of your apartment, and slipping into and sliding down the window you've left open after leaving. Locking the window I slammed my back against the wall and slid down to sit on the carpeted floor huffing the newly found fresh apartment room air.  Panting I huffed out, "I almost lost my job," I thought and said out loud, placing a hand on my head as it pounded from being overheated. As I heard four far undecipherable muffled bickering outside the window. This being the second time you've been chased by them but the first to make a big risk to head back to your apartment.

My breathing slowed going back to its original rhythm, as I rethink back to what I'd observed today and what I heard before I had to bolt. You achingly walked toward your desk opening a drawer with your small notebook. Grabbing your book and a pencil you threw to the side of your desk last night out of laziness. You scribbled all of the things that you've collected today making sure you included the date on top of the page, then drank water from a bottle you grabbed out of your mini fridge a few hours ago. You groaned in annoyance at how little you got from not filling an entire page. All you thought about is what your boss will say from the decrease of words you wrote every day when you brought back the info. You flipped through the pages of your notebook looking through the in-depth words and drawings of the turtles, the rat, and April. You've already learned so much yourself the first few days like their names, unfinished plans they've discussed but never followed, personality traits, weapons, and some of their fighting moves. You were especially interested in the orange turtle, Mikey and his creative fighting style as well as how the purple turtle, Donnie was able to make a bunch of high-technology, and how he even got all the materials. You stared at the page of your sketchings of his Tech-Bo and what you've been able to observe what it's capable of doing, not realizing how you're running out of space to put down the things it can do.  Considering he was a mutant you never thought they'd be as smart as humans but it's maybe just me not having much knowledge about them.

Clasping the book together and putting it back inside the drawer, you yawned heading to my closet and picking out an already chosen pajama outfit. Heading to the bathroom holding your clothes on one arm you opened the door shutting it with your foot as you unzipped and took off your jumpsuit, you slipped on some shorts and an oversized t-shirt. As I turned on the sink using my hands to cup the cold but nice water onto my face I thought about how I could improve the quantity of my observations. I mentally argued with myself squeezing my eyes shut, "If there's only a way if I can get closer without being caught." My eyes widen with an idea. "Hiding in plain sight!" I exclaimed to myself, grabbing a towel to dry my face off. Jumping onto my bed and pulling the covers over myself I thought about how I can somehow pull this off.

"Stage an attack with a villain they know that we're working with..?
Nah, they'll just save me like any normal citizen.
Stage a fake fight with the foot clan and pretend I'm a hero so I can have a fake connection with them and ruin their way by stopping the foot clan?
No... They'll catch on. But I'm liking the last part of it."

I tossed and turned in bed hugging my pillow thinking that I'll have to throw away my ideas and also how I'm going to sleep to have enough hours for school.

"Wait.
April goes to the same high school as me.
I can befriend her for a while, get some information about her, and as she stumbles upon her words about hiding her weirdness ill ask her it's okay to spill the beans about her being friends with mutant turtles!
Definitely grateful for paying attention and eavesdropping on her and Sunita during class."

A smile formed on your face covered with a pillow excited about tomorrow morning not thinking about how this plan cannot backfire in any way.

Sorry about the Prologue guys I know it's the most boring and short part of the book. This part is unchecked so there are prolly many errors in my writing, and I think you know I really like writing in second person.

Here's a POV of the turtles after you managed to escape them 😜
