Chapter 3

"Kenshi, your classroom performance has been very poor since the day you came back to school, you didn't do any of your homework, you didn't pay any attention to any of my lessons.. " The teacher goes through all of Kenshi's notebooks in front of all of the students while Kenshi stands in the corner because he was dozing off again. "So from now on, I'm going to set you up with another student as study partners, she's an excellent 100 points student so i'm sure she's capable of teaching you just fine. Kenshi, meet Akane"

A red haired girl stands up from her desk and walks up to Kenshi. "Pleasure being your tutor from now on, Kenshi." She looks at him with full determination in her crimson eyes, she doesn't look like the type you can joke with, full on serious mode 24/7. "P-Pleasure meeting you... too, Akane..." He tries to give her a smile but she just stares at him, questioning him.

The lesson continues as normal.

As the bell rings for the school's lunch time, Kenshi was planning to go to the cafeteria for some snacks but he was pulled back by Akane. "You can have your lunch after our extra lessons, Kenshi."

The bell for break time rings, Kenshi thought this could be his time to go to the bathroom but he was pulled back again "Hey! Break time is the best time for some more lessons, you haven't finish the exercises i made for you!"

School's finally over, Kenshi tried running out of the class as fast as possible but his speed wasn't fast enough as he was soon captured by Akane for an extra 30 minutes lesson after class.

"This girl is scary...." Kenshi thinks to himself once he was released from the hands of the Crimson Monster.

He goes home and lies down on the floor. He checks the clock to see when he should get ready to work. Ever since he went back to school, he also came back to his old job as a night shift store clerk to start going back to earning some money. He cleaned out all the trash letters from his mailbox and cleaned his room in case those two ever come to pay him a visit. He feels like an actual living person now and not just a dry walking corpse he used to be. "It's almost 10 o'clock. We should be going." He grabs Wa and puts it in his pocket.

"Awww.. ~ I wanted to watch T.V some more.." Wa sulks

Kenshi walks his way to the convenient store where he works, he goes into the store and clocks in. After wearing his work apron, he goes to the usual standing spot which is the checkout. He just stands there waiting, if he gets bored, he will always just goes around the shop to look at the items or just play with the automatic door in which he just steps up for the door to open and steps back for it to close. He likes working in this place, it's usually very quiet at night so no one can bother him. After about an hour and a half, a guy walks into the store, he heads to the instant noodle section "A college student huh?" Kenshi keeps his thoughts to himself. After finished taking the instant noodle cups, the guy goes to Kenshi to checkout, Kenshi was scanning for his stuff until the guy suddenly asks: "Kenshi? Is that you?" This startled him, he turns to see who's asking. That blond hair.. "Mr. Okiharu?!"

"Don't call me Mr. It sounds so old~"

"Why are you here?!" He was still surprised to see Okiharu in here out of all places, he didn't look like the type who would be buying instant noodles.

"Well, I'm just buying food for myself~ Are you that poor that you already have a job as a highschooler?"

"Um... yeah.... I kinda have no choice.."

"Oh. Um.. By the way, I have thought about your situation and here you go" Okiharu rummages through his bag to bring out a nokia 320 phone box. "For communication" He smiles warmly at Kenshi.

Holding the box, Kenshi blushes hard then asks "B-But what do I owe you for th-this?!" He doesn't know what to feel about this, this is his first time obtaining a gift from someone "Y-You are an angel, M-Mr.Okiharu!!" Kenshi gets all emotional again, he wipes his tear away to gets his composure back, "T-Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"

"Haha.. No need to get that emotional~ Welp, I gotta get going now, see you later, Kenshi"

"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" Kenshi keeps thanking Okiharu even though he already left.

After that encounter with Okiharu, nothing spectacular happened, just normal customers in and out, the usual. It's 2 in the morning now, his shift finally ends, Kenshi walks back home with the box Okiharu gave him. He still blushes each time he looks at it. At home, Kenshi's heart beats so fast, he was supposed to go to sleep now but the thought of opening that box to use the phone from a guy he just met gifted to him made him sleepless. "Kenshi! Are you going to open the box or not?! It's almost 3!"

"I'm sorry. I'm just so happy! I haven't felt like this since ever!" He carefully opens the box in order not to damage the box, just like what the outside said, inside was a Nokia 320 with a charger. He takes the phone out to turn it on, it rings then lits up to show the lock screen of the phone was a picture of Okiharu's guide sleeping, the creature has dark gray skin with pans attach to its horns to resemble a scale. Kenshi checks the phonebook and it already contains Okiharu's and Ryuto's numbers. "This is the best night ever" Kenshi puts his phone away after checking everything it has to get ready for bed.

That night, he had a nightmare of that faithful night again, he was a child in his old kimono and his fox mask, holding a bloody sword, in front of him, his sister, also in kimono and a fox mask, lying there on the floor, her organs are out with blood flowing out from her stomach and chest. His child form was crying and screaming his sister's name "AIMI! AIMI! AIMI! WAKE UP PLEASE!!" Everyone who hated him all surround him with their eyes speaking the word "Death" to him, they pointed their finger at him like how that demon shot him multiple times, he hugged his sister's body then suddenly her head turned at him, her eyes went red and dripping with blood, she yelled: "MURDERER!!" at his face. He threw her body and ran away from all of them, while running he heard someone calling out to him, so he headed to where the sound was and it front of him was Okiharu as an angel, he was opening his arms, calling out to Kenshi to come to him. Kenshi dropped his fox mask and jumped up to the angel, he said: "Okiharu. I want to be by your side forever."

The angel carried him and flew up to the sky,away from the darkness below. As he reaches out to the light, he was woken upby Wa yelling at him to wake up. "WAKE UP, KENSHI!! IT'S 5:30ALREADY!!"
