Aurora's Pov:
"Olive, I'll meet you at the studio!" Daisy yelled through the tiny cozy apartment.
"See you there Dais!" I answer back as I grab my skateboard by the door.
I skate down the busy streets of Sydney, towards Studio X. The studio where I found my passion for dancing, where I won first place in a dance competition. Where I now work as a dance choreographer, teaching people how to dance as well as practicing for upcoming performances and competitions. I feel the wind blowing in my hair as I make my way down a hill. As soon as I enter the studio I hear Summer, the receptionist calling out to me.
"Good morning Liv, ready for the day?"
"Good morning Summer, I'm as ready as I can be for a early day"
Summer laugh it off and she goes back to typing on the computer, while I continue the way down the hall towards the staff area. I reach the door with the name "Staff room" in big letters, I enter and go to my locker, putting everything away and change into more comfortable clothes to dance in. My schedule for the day is starting with to help a new group practice for their first performance as well as getting myself ready for an upcoming competition.
I leave the staff area making my way to an empty practice room. I unlock the heavy door and enter, turning on the lights and getting everything ready. The students starts to drop in one after another. Everyone is soon here and ready to begin the class.
During the class I help the group improve their moves and the facial expressions. They improve very fast and really like getting the advices.
"Okay class, great job today! I'm really proud, please continue to work on your individual dance performances when you're home. If you have any other questions for me please ask me now or you find me after class."
"No teach, we don't have any questions" Stella, one of the dancers say
"Perfect! Does anybody have any music suggestions for the remaining of this class?"
Every student of the class instantly begin speaking with a their suggestions, but song caught my eye particularly. Mic Drop By BTS, not something that students often choose. I don't mind by any means, just not something often picked because of the hard choreography.
"Okay guys, give me your best dance moves!" I say loudly as I put on the music.
Everyone moved their own way and in their in style, which is the best part of dancing. It gives you freedom and space to be yourself. That's why I chose to dance instead of singing, cause people would always judge you no matter how good you're trying. That's why I feel bad for him, the guy that told me to do what my heart wanted me to do, that guy receive so much hate. Enough about him now, it will only make me sad.
The class ends after a while of be able to freestyle, the group left happy and satisfied with the training before the competition. I have a short break before going back to practicing for the competition myself. The biggest competition in Australia, held in Sydney for dancers to show their skills and try to get casted for a bigger studios, where all the famous dancers go. Most dancers don't get to compete and then they end up being stuck in the same studio without getting to experience anything every dancer wants to.
I go to the speakers and put on one of the songs I would perform, Motley Crew by Post Malone. I move my body to the rhythm of the song, I feel the air move between my arms as I move. With every move I take, the air in the room gets thicker. The song is on repeat as I practice, until I hear the door open and some people entering. The time must be up for me but I continue until the song is over. I block out the people in the background and focus on getting everything as perfect as I can. The tunes of the song comes to an end, and I hear people clapping. I turn around seeing my friends from the studio.
"Great job Liv! That was amazing girl" Daisy yelled as she jumped around in the room, like a bunny
Daisy have been my best friend since beginning of high school which have now been awhile. She is more of a sister then a best friend. She is one of the best things that ever happened to me, she is always there for me.
"Thank you Dais, I hope this will be good enough for the judges!" I respond back while grabbing my water bottle.
"Girl, you will make the judges drop their jaws." Daisy says as she strut over to me.
"I sure hope so Dais"
We both walk over to the speakers and bags in the corner, taking everything back to its original place as well as packing my things. We walk out of the room and I turn off the lights, leaving nothing but darkness behind me.
We talk about all kind of thing on our way towards the staff area. Daisy just finished her class with the small kids, that are just starting to learn the basics of dancing, which is adorable. We really love doing this job, both of us. Dancing is like breathing air and when we can't do it, we feel like we're drowning. I know it's cheesy and all but it's the truth.
Daisy sits down on the bench while drinking her water. I pick up my water bottle and drink a bit, the cold water really feels like heaven after dancing for so long.
"Liv! Should we grab some lunch? I know great place serving all kinds of food." Daisy ask while getting ready for grabbing some food.
"100% Dais, I'm starving. We can eat anywhere, just give me food girly" I respond as I brush though my hair quickly. We both walk out shortly after we both where freshen up.
Hand in hand walking down the pavement towards the restaurant. I couldn't really wait for some food in my system after the hard practice. We reach the restaurant in no time, opening the door fast. We enter and the smell is captivating, the smell of newly cooked food is the best thing after a long morning of practice.
We order our food up front, I ordered a big steak and Daisy ordered a chicken burger, we also ordered some drinks while we waited for our food. The drinks soon arrived as we talked, a cola for me and a sprite for Daisy. We planned the following weeks before the competition, the structure of the training for the new group and solo dancers. Once the food arrived we ate everything in silence, we were that hungry. When we finally finished the food we went up and paid.
We soon stepped out of the restaurant and started to head back towards the studio again. We decided to take a shortcut through the park. The smell of fresh air and the birds shipper from the trees, is one of the best things when you walk through the park. We soon arrive back to the studio, ready for practice. Me and Daisy will compete together in the competition, so we spend the rest of the day together in the studio. Hours and hours we spends on practicing for the competition, that will be in a few weeks. Hopefully, we will be ready.
