Chapter 2

Waking up in the morning, you could feel the sleep deprivation hanging over your eyelids, desperately trying to close them shut. However, your alarm currently going off had other plans. Thinking about what happened at that convenience store kept you up all night, but now you believed you had a solid theory.

Begrudgingly making your way out of bed, you found that despite being alone in your home, you did feel a bit of a presence. You found by simply making your way downstairs that it must've just been your Father. On the kitchen counter sat your lunch for the day with a special note <3.

You felt at ease, stepping out of your home after getting ready for the day.

The first half of the day passed by normally, simply beginning your lessons in class. But now it was lunch time!! And for your interrogation, smirks evilly teehee

You grabbed your lunch from your bag and headed over to Koichi and Josuke's homeroom, class 1-B. They were getting out their own lunches and sitting by the windowsill.

Admittedly, this group could look a bit bizarre to any average outsider. Josuke had opened the window to sit ON the windowsill and eat his lunch. Koichi had turned his chair around to eat his lunch on Josuke's desk, like a normal person. You had just decided to sit in Josuke's chair and share the desk with Koichi. A pompous thug, a straight-lace nerd, and a new kid. What a group!

You opened up your lunch, happy with its delicious contents! Your dad knew you well! "So, Josuke." You started a conversation before you even dug in. "I have a theory." You stated.

Josuke looked confused. "A theory? About what?" He began eating his own food.

"Are you a magician?" You asked, unfaltering seriousness in your tone.

The two boys in your vicinity looked at each other, then back at you.

Koichi shook his head. "Is this about the robbery? Y/N, I was freaked out too but--"

"Woah, hold on now. Let them cook. I want to see the logic behind this." Josuke interrupted, attempting to hold back a giggle.

"Well, I was thinking last night how magicians do the trick with the rings and they put them together but... You did it with the..." Your voice began to trail off into more of a mumble as you tried to piece together your uncohesive midnight thoughts.

"I think you should calm down with this conspiracy talk..." Koichi brought you back down with reality, grasping your hands and setting them on the desk instead of having them flail around in your brain blast.

"Yeah, I'm just a normal guy!" Josuke chuckled, leaning confidently into the side of the window.

The rest of lunch carried on as normal, just having regular conversations now. Having friends was nice! Who knew!

The rest of the day flew by. Now it was time for your real challenge to begin! Work

The walk to Kame Yu was only a bit farther than the convenience store. It seemed busier however because of the temporary closing of that convenience store.

'The first day is always easy...' You told yourself. 'Yeah, I'm sure they'll just show me around and give me a uniform and then send me home early! Badda Bing, badda boom!" However, it was not like that.

The first required thing to do was meet your manager, Mr. Yoshikage Kira. He was a bit older than the other employees and manager and hung out mostly in the back doing paperwork and whatever else managers do! Like greeting their new subordinates!
