Luke exhaled a sudden a sigh of relief he didn't relise he was holding in. He turned his radio up too the loudest setting as he waited for Brooklyn to arrive, until it hit him. He's never even had a proper conversation with brooklyn in person. A nervous feeling, close to nausea engulfed the pit of his stomach and if he hadn't skipped lunch, he swore he would have thrown up right then and there.
Brooklyn considered driving up to the gas station but quickly realized it was unnecessary as it was no more than a block away from her house.
As soon as she stepped outside to begin her journey across the block she noticed the wind was cooler than she expected, without really giving it a second thought, she sprinted back inside all the way to her bedroom, grabbing the black denim jacket that's she's been taking especially good care of and sprinted back out the door towards Sheetz.
Luke continued sitting smugly in his mustang, air-guitaring along to the song on the radio, and still feeling as nervous as ever.
Brooklyn scanned over all the cars in the parking lot once she got there. Her eyes reluctantly drifted over to the very corner of the parking lot where a forest green mustang was sitting apart from the rest of the parked cars.
Loud and heavily distorted angry punk music was practically seeping out of the mustangs windows, begging to be heard, and not so surprisingly, the familiar blonde boy was seated in the drivers seat, banging his head to the music and using his dash board as if it were a drum set.
Brooklyn giggled louder than she expected as she admired Luke's child like behavior, still standing a safe distance away.
Luke quickly decided to stop being a rock star in the gas station parking lot as a droplet of sweat made its way down his forehead. He didn't want Brooklyn to think he smelt bad, especially since his friend Calum informed him that his sweat smelled like "dead asshole", and ever since then Luke's odor has always been one of his biggest insecurities considering Brooklyn probably wouldn't enjoy the sweet scent of dead asshole.
Brooklyn started making her way towards Luke's car, anxiously anticipating the look on Luke's face when he notices that she's wearing his jacket. All the while trying her hardest to fight back the butterflies that were presently filling her stomach.
Brooklyn raised her fist reluctantly above Luke's car window and hesitated a bit before gently knocking.
Luke's head whipped around, immediately greeting Brooklyn with an dimply smile.
Luke felt his heart beat against his chest when he noticed what Brooklyn had on. It was the Jacket he lent her.
Luke pushed his car door open somewhat awkwardly and stammered out of his car, practically hitting Brooklyn with his door in the process.
"Hi Luke" Brooklyn murmured up towards Luke as she waved slightly.
Luke giggled at the sight in front of him and completely ignored the urge to say hey back to the beautiful girl.
"Okay yeah so I kinda have something planned out for us so I guess we can go. Unless you don't want to then we don't have to it doesn't really matter matter." Luke practically shouted the words at her, not really noticing how loud and completely awkward he was being as the nerves took control of his thought process.
Brooklyn chuckled in response before replying,"I'm sure whatever it is it'll be fun."
Luke nodded humorously before turning back around toward his car and opened the passenger door so Brooklyn could get in.
"After you" Luke spoke, gesturing his hand towards the passenger seat the same way a waiter would at a fancy restaurant.
Brooklyn sat down accordingly, followed by Luke shutting the door behind her.
"So where are we going exactly" Brooklyn turned to Luke with a look of excitement and anticipation.
"The State Fair"
