The two demons stand off against their respective slayers, Yorokobi clears her throat, "So you're Lower Moon Six, then?"

The calmer male demon hums, "No, we are Lower Moon Six."

"We?" I blurt out. What does he mean by we?

"Yes, we. Together, we make up Lower Moon Six. Both of us are technically-"

"Ugh!" The louder female demon shouts in frustration, "Blah blah blah. Let's just fight!!"

I anticipate a jump from both demons, but all I hear is a clash of blades to my right. Yorokobi now no longer in my peripheral vision. The demon in front of me simply takes one single step forward, getting into his combat stance, unsheathing two sickles from his belt. His stance is low, grounded, and secure. A defensive stance by all means, but one that seems to be focusing on counter attacking. One blade is held above his head with the sharp end pointed down, the other held horizontally in front, sharp end protruding toward me.

I take a few cautious steps toward him, slowly entering the room the attack came from. I hear Yorokobi and the other demon clashing rapidly, but do not see them. It sounds like their in the room over from us. The male demon smiles, "It's been a while since I could engage in even combat! Hopefully you can provide such a luxury for me."

I keep a serious and threatening demeanor, deciding against answering the demon. It doesn't matter, I'll just have to win anyway.

I put some weight onto my back foot and start to surge forward, but my body doesn't let me. I...

I'm nervous.

I shake my head and start to circle the demon, and he does the same.

"A nervous slayer is no good. You won't provide challenge like that. Get ready, it's time I broke the ice."

Before I can even comprehend what he's said, he fires off toward me, swinging his weapons for my stomach. I reflexively jump back, barely dodging the attack. I gather myself quickly and start to go for a counter attack, but before I can he's in my face again, swinging for my neck.

He's so fast.

I barely get my sword up in time to stop the attack, I hold the farmers blades mere inches away from my throat, he's fast, and incredibly strong. He doesn't seem to be strained at all, but it takes my whole weight to hold his attack at bay. With a hum, he jumps back and returns to stance. I drop my shoulders and huff a few breaths from the effort.

After I bring my shoulders back to form, the demon beckons me forward, taunting me to attack.

No?

He's politely waiting for me to.

I gather my breath, and after a sharp exhale, I hiss a breath through my teeth, I feel my body heat up rapidly, and I lower my body to put as much weight into my legs as I can.

"Flame Breathing: Second Form," I say quietly through gritted teeth. I surge forward, seemingly much faster than the demon expected, seeing his face light up in joyus surprise as I stop mere inches away from his blade.

"Rising Scorching Sun!" Then, with a heave of effort, I swing my blade up toward his lower half.

This must work. I cannot hope to outmatch him with speed or power, so I'll have to get crafty. As I expected, the strike connects, and he stops it with a blade of his own halfway through his abdomen, swinging down at me with his other. I stop the technique, and pull back my sword, blocking his weak back footed strike with relative ease. I anticipate his next move as well, he tries to use his now free blade to double down on me, in an attempt to push me down. I use my sword to leverage his weight, however, and slide to my left, letting his weight carry him down to the floor. I bring my arms up into a high guard, it's now or never!
