The moon was now concealed by large clouds, so you were shrouded in pure darkness. You struggled to see your surroundings.

Your body began shaking from fear. There was nothing you could do.

The sword that was next to your neck began digging into your skin. You were counting down the remaining seconds you had until you'd be officially dead.

"Stay away from her!"

The sword immediately pulled away from your neck and the unknown figure immediately got up from you.

"You...!"

The moon suddenly emerged, illuminating the area once again.

The unknown figure was unable to be seen anywhere.

"Are you alright?"

You turned to face this other unknown figure.

He slowly began approaching you. The moon lit up his face.

It was a man with a hair tied up in a ponytail. He was wearing earrings.

That woman mentioned that a man with earrings brought you to her...could this mean...

It's him?

The man offered his hand. You hesitated, but then reached out to grab it.

"Ow!"

You suddenly felt a sharp pain in your neck.

The man immediately knelt down beside you and lifted your chin.

His eyes widened in fear and he suddenly tore a piece of cloth from his haori and wrapped it around your neck.

"He didn't cut into you too deeply, luckily." He said.

The man sighed.

You looked at him and hesitated.

"Are you my husband?" You managed to ask.

He looked at you in shock.

"What are you talking about, Y/N?!" He said.

"That's my name?" You looked at him in confusion.

"Ah...so you have memory loss. I don't know how I'm going to explain anything to you now..." The man sighed.

He patted your head.

"No, I'm not your husband. My brother is your husband." He said.

"Your brother?! So we're related?" You exclaimed.

He nodded.

"Then...take me to my husband!!!" You said.

"No...now isn't a good time..." He whispered.

"But...I'm so curious...it's the only thing I've been thinking about ever since I woke up!!" You said.

You immediately paused.

"Wait...who was that person that attacked me just now?" You asked.

The man looked extremely disturbed.

"It was just a demon." He said, looking away.

He then looked back at you.

"Why are you even here in the first place? You're supposed to be resting at the place I took you to." He said.

"But, never mind about that. I'm taking you back there." He said, standing up.

He leaned forward and placed his arm behind your back, while the other one was placed underneath your legs. He slowly lifted you up.

Eventually, you both arrived at your destination.

The door was still open. The man walked inside.

"Oh, thank you for bringing her back." The woman said.

"No problem. She was attacked by a demon, though. She has a cut on her neck but fortunately it's not too deep." The man said.

The woman nodded in acknowledgment.

"I'll tend to her wound right away." She said.

"Promise you'll never run away like that ever again? You really made us worried." The woman said, wrapping a bandage around your neck.

"I promise." You said.

But you knew you didn't really mean it.

"What's your name, by the way?" The woman asked.

"It's Y/N, apparently." You said.

"Hm...such a pretty name. My name is Tamayo, if you were wondering." She looked up. The man from before began walking towards her and stopped.

"And this is Yushiro. My assistant." She said.

"Nice to meet you both. Thank you for taking care of me." You said.

"It's our duty to look after other people." Tamayo said.

A hint of sadness was evident in her eyes.

"Y/N, may I ask you something?" Tamayo said.

You nodded.

Tamayo was preparing to say something, but hesitated.

"Never mind. I don't think now is a good time to ask you this." She said.
