Axlan Michaelson

They had been after me for weeks. I didn't want to kill them. I like to kill occasionally. But these guys were idiots. Trying to mess with me. Coming after me when they know they can't even touch my hair. If they had not followed me to this place I would have let them live for another day or two. But guys like them are eager to die.

I was done for the day but that scream made me realise my work was not done yet.

That's when I saw her.
I walked towards Urban Grill bar.
She stumbles backwards and squeezes her eyes shut.

She does not wanna see me. She knows how the bad side of the town operates.

Lovely.

"I know how this works. I didn't see you I swear. Nor do I have that intent. Just... Just lemme go." She yells frantically. Her yells die with mere whispers.

Silence.

Someone else in this situation may see this opportunity to avoid collateral damage but I.

I chuckle lightly. A smirk formed on my face.

Silence.

I see that face of hers. Innocent. I wonder what colour her eyes are. I want them open. Looking into mine. With fear. Or some affection maybe. Or longing is enough? I wanted to take a good look at that pretty face. I couldn't see her properly.

Silence.

Aah! She is just like another one of my prey. They beg for me when they see me. I want her to see me.

I can probably just kill them after I am done with her. Or keep her for some time before –

"Please! are you gone already? I could be out of trouble if I don't see you right? "

Silence.

I am analysing the situation right now. They were after me throughout the journey. All four of them. But I remember killing just 3. Where is the 4th one? He's alive and intact. But if they see her. She's done for good. She'll be nothing but a liability then.

Silence.

Silence.

"Say something" She begs me as she loses her patience.

That 4th bastard is around here.

I act quickly. I move ahead grab her by her jacket dragging her inside pushing her behind one of the sofas. She whimpered.

"Stay here and shut up!" I whispered dangerously and I know she got it. I aimed the gun at her head and she nodded. I could see as a tear slipped from her left eye.

I pushed the sudden urge to wipe it off.
Fuck– just get the job done Axl.

I got back up. My gun is firm in my hand. I waited for a while. Maybe 5 minutes. I know that bastard is hiding. Too afraid to make a sound. Huh!

I go back to the girl hoist her up and practcally put her over my shoulders. I went behind the counter. I knew to the far end a staircase with start. I grab the keys from a hidden drawer on the left.

Spare ones.

I move upstairs.

"We aren't allowed upstairs." She whispered meekly maybe not wanting me to hear at all.

A habit of bar workers. Just a HABIT.

I carry her to room 2. She shifted in my rough embrace as they used the keys and throw her down the bed.

"I see you refuse to open your eyes girl," I say looking outside the window.

"How do you know where the keys are?" She asked. Still having the courage to ask questions.

"How do you know this place?" She asked again.

"A guy who wishes to kill me is out there. We will be together till he dies and then off you go. Back to your boring life. Till then enjoy sweetheart"

"Just lemme go. I have to be back at home."

"Oh really. What's back there at home? A nice good boyfriend? Or some sick lover waiting?" I said mockingly.

"Please. I have to go." She pleaded.

"Oh sorry is my unannounced arrival disturbing your schedule honey I cannot FUCKING help it now. I have to finish that man. Open your FUCKING eyes now because we should have a chat about what's gonna happen now." I roughly grabbed her body. Hold her hair so that her face is right in front of me.

"I tried to not see so don't blame me later." She said softly and opened her eyes slowly as if I was some ugly beast she wanted to avoid laying her eyes at.

Her eyes were brown. Just brown. But still, I can swear that they were the most intoxicating ones I had ever seen.

Her eyes travel from my face to my neck. And stop. And my travel from her eyes to her lips.

Her lips quivered as she builds up the courage to speak to me again.

"What?" I said a little annoyed by her plain reaction. Normally I could see the 'like what they see' feature on girls' faces when they see me. But her. Just plain.

"Your neck" was all she said. Her hand travel to my neck and landed on the side trying to stop the blood oozing from some cut that went unnoticed till now.

"It's okay. I deal with it later." I brush her hand off.

She slipped out of reach swiftly. I sit on the bed observing her keenly. More like how a predator watches his prey. She bought a first aid kit back with her.

I know she could see how annoyed I was. I don't like unnecessary things.

I held out a hand to stop her. But she kept the box at the side. Used the cotton and the disinfectant and some ointment literally pushed my hand away. She came in closer to take a good look at the wound and cleaned it lightly and put some ointment on it. She went back to take the bandage. When she came back she leaned in closer than before. I knew she was done when I pulled her closer when I knew our lips were just about to touch. She was taken aback.

Maybe not expecting it out of a man whom she just helped in her words.

I brush my lips against hers lightly. I could see her eyes shocked with some tears still in them.

My face hardened till she could see the veins throbbing on the side. My hold on her hand tightens.

I leaned to a side till I reached her ear to whisper "NO ONE PUSHES MY HAND AWAY. NO MATTER WHAT"
