Chapter 3: The Prince
"When the sun and moon meet on the night of her 20th year then will things begin. Battles won, peace made and unions formed. Only when the purest of souls mixes with the group of beasts can peace be brought to the land."
A Prophecy kept secret from the people, not even the highest of royals knew. The king of the land told but 1 person of this Prophecy, his right hand man. The man that had been sworn to secrecy by the king himself, letting slip be punishable by death.
The king knew of its meaning he knew that one day his worst secret would be revealed he only hoped that when it did, his only heir would not hate him for it.

The Prince was a quiet one, a man of very few words. He liked it that way, it kept his opponents on their toes. He was not a man of word but one of action.
So it came as no shock when he left his safe place in the Palace to help defend the kingdom on the front lines, there he met him.
Someone he knew would be there till the very end."You know your not at all what I expected you to be."
It was not the first time that the young Prince had heard this, he had been told his whole life he was different.
Different from what? He wasn't sure. Maybe it was how different he was from his father, where his father ruled with his fist the Prince wished to rule with logic. He did not want his kingdom to live in fear, hence why he was on the battlefield."I know Anton, you've told me a many of times. Now be quiet and listen out"
It wasn't uncommon for Kado to be assertive, its who he was. After all he was to rule a grand kindom soon. Though what's ironic is, Anton was the lead for this stakeout and had warned the others of treading quietly yet here he was mindlessly chatting as though they weren't behind enemy lines.Kado did think of his partner to be brave as to suggest such a mission but that's where he knew he could trust him, Anton would put himself in danger before anyone else. Even someone he just met.
As Anton was about to quip back with something the Prince more than likely wouldn't want to hear, a small crunch was heard on the snowy grounds.
Now for spring slowly approaching their battlegrounds looked like a winter wonderland, something one of the beasts used to their advantage. The crunch of the snow came from behind, it caused Kado to drop his head, he had not anticipated being cornered by the enemy, he thought they had it all planned out but as he turned around he was horrified at the sight.
The perfect white snow no longer beamed under sunlight instead it darkened with the crimson red of his loyal followers blood, slaughtered behind them in silence as they 2 lead ahead. His stomach churned and no matter how much violence and Gore he had seen he could never get the sight out his head long enough to keep down his breakfast.A low growl emitted from infornt of them. As they whipped around the flash of blonde moved as fast as lightning to the back of them, the creature kept it up for a while longer. Taunting the soldiers. Stalking them, circling in its prey like a hungry beast.
With fear coursing through the prince's veins he cast a glance to Anton. His new ally had not an ounce of fear on his face or behind his dark eyes. All the Prince could see was a cool and level-headed man. It was then the Prince took a deep breath in to stable his erratic heartbeat.
The Prince may be soon to rule a kingdom but he was only a soldier on this battlefield, he was ranks below Anton and so he turned to his commanding officer,
"What's the plan?"A million thoughts passed through Antons eyes, Kado had learned to read the man next to him quickly, a technique his father taught him.
"To rule a kingdom you must learn to read their emotions before they know what they are feeling"
His father's voice rang through his head, it was smart advice but sometimes Kado wished he didn't know how to.He had seen the guilt on Antons face before he had even turned the prince's way. Kado took it as his friend was sorry for leading them into this trap but it was something entirely different.
Before either could do anything a blur of fur rushed towards the Prince before he was met with darkness
