Chapter 3

Thankfully, school is now over and i can finally head home.
I was in front of my locker, fixing my hair when i heard i voice full of gracefulness.

"So you ready?" Adelaide greeted me.

I scrunched my eyebrows in confusion. And that's when i remembered.

"Oh right! That!" I forcefully smiled. "Wh-what are we doing again?" I asked because i was completely clueless to where we're going. She walked towards the hallway and i followed her. "I said where are we going?" I asked again, as she just kept walking.

"You'll see. Don't worry, just follow me." Surprisingly, my heart is steady and calm. I have a feeling this is not that bad. We reached the back exit of the school where the parking lot was, but we were heading towards the middle, the fields. "Are we going to have a ride?" I asked curiously, looking at her for answers.

"Oh." She was surprised. "We're not going anywhere. We're just staying here." She spread her arms and introduced the already-familiar surroundings. I looked at the nature behind here.

We're at the fields of the school where sports and other events are held. "What is this?" I asked confused. "We" She looped her arm around mine and dragged me towards. "Are going to watch the tryouts for the Lacrosse team."

I sighed in releif. "That's it? We're gonna watch Lacrosse?"

"Yep. You're coming with me to watch lacrosse. Whether you like it or not." She sassily said.

"Hmm. Give me one reason why i should come with you?" I playfully folded my arms in my chest and raised an eyebrow. "Because." She sighed. "There's this hella cute guy in one of my classes and he told me that he would try out for Lacrosse with a friend." My eyes widened. OMG, my best friend's crushing on someone! "So i thought that i would come watch him and give my support."

"What's his name?" I beamed excitedly and proudly at my best friend.

"Oscar." She said in a sweet, low voice like she was mesmerized by the whole idea of him. "Hm... Nice name." I said and smiled at her.

She held my hand and we went to the bleachers, taking a seat at the second row. We stayed silent for ten minutes, enjoying the company of each other. I took it as a great time to see the place and the people around. The fields were beautiful as always. Sometimes, i spend my free period here to study. The peaceful sound of birds, the afternoon sun peeking through the clouds, and the fresh air from the trees far above makes it a perfect spot to de-stress.

In front of us is a group of girls who seems to be freshmen. They were giggling about something, when suddenly, a girl approached them. I can tell the girl was shy because of the way she's dressed. The baggy shirt and jeans doesn't flatter her petite figure. I couldn't figure what she said to the group because her voice is too low, but i can tell that she got mocked by the laughs of the girls.

"Hey, how's your pictures?" Adelaide interrupted my thoughts.

"Huh?" I blurted without thinking because i was too deep in thought.

"Your pictures? You're photography?" Oh right, my pictures. "Oh and that photography class you took in the summer?"

"Ooh. It was amazing." I smiled widely. Actually, it was more amazing than amazing. "Getting to work with cool people who attachment in the same field as me is beyond amazing." She nodded approvingly.
