I slam my hand onto my alarm clock and groan. I roll out of bed and get dressed. I walk out of my room to see my roommate and best friend Seraphine, humming and making breakfast.
Darrien: "Hey Sera, whatcha making?"
This seems to have startled Sera a bit as she straightened up and caused her to spin around quite abruptly.
Seraphine: "O-o-oh hi Dare, I'm just making some eggs and toast."
This made me smile a bit, I would have never thought I would have someone making me breakfast, sure this happens almost on a daily basis, but it will always be something I am thankful for. I grab a cup of coffee from the pot and sit down at the counter, as I am checking my phone I decide to ask Sera a few questions before I head out and do what I need to do.
Darrien: "Well thanks Sera you don't have to do this, but it is appreciated. Do you work today?"
Sera turns around with two plates of food and hands me one while taking a seat herself and answers my question.
Sera: "It isn't a problem at all, after all if I don't when will you eat and no, I don't work today, I have off. Do you work?"
I shake my head.
Darrien: "Nah I actually got most of this week off, Mr. Ryze and Ms. Yuumi are really nice, probably after I had stayed overtime 6 days in a row."
This causes Sera to chuckle and smile at me.
Sera: "You know for someone who doesn't like to bothered and complains that things are a pain you really do help out a lot."
I smirk and shake my head.
Darrien: "I only help because otherwise its more work for me the next day, rather just get it done. Lets me have more silence during the day."
Sera: "You and your 'silence'."
We both smile and continue eating. After we finish and start to clean up we start to go over what needs to be done today.
Darrien: "Seems like we have quite the grocery list going, lets knock that out first especially since its a Friday night, store is definitely gonna get busy after 3 PM and I don't want to deal with that many people."
I look at the time and it is currently 11 AM. Sera and I both decide to head out after cleaning up, so we both return to our rooms. I decide to take a quick shower and then change into a black button up with rolled up sleeves and some black slacks. I prefer to wear the color black since its a color that lets me hide in corners, so I can have silence almost anywhere, but my eyes definitely cause some issue as they're amethyst, a color that isn't very common and they tend to have a low glow in low light. After finishing up I walk out and wait for Sera.
Seraphine POV
I return to my room and start to get ready. I sigh and look at myself in the mirror.
Seriously Sera, almost 7 years now and you still can't confess or at least start hinting that you like him? I guess it is okay, Darrien doesn't seem to care about getting into a relationship right now.... WAIT WHAT IF THAT MEANS EVEN IF I DO TELL HIM HE WON'T WANT TO DATE ME!?!? Oh dear this is just stressing me out. I really shouldn't overthink these things, I will just take it one step at a time. I mean I am by no means unattractive.
I look at myself in the mirror and smile. Yeah, I am definitely not unattractive, I should have a shot! Crap! What is the time? He is probably waiting for me! I hurriedly shower and dress myself. I step out of my room and see he is in his usual clothes, but with his physique it makes him look stunning. Seriously, how does he stay single and out of the eye of women, is it just because he is 'unabled'?
