Chapter 5: 'Calm' After The Storm

HI! So.... I'm not dead. I legit forgot to write and finals.... my bad. Well uh here is the story.

Darrien POV

Monster.

Murderer.

YOU'RE THE REASON THEY'RE DEAD!

Sunlight peaked through the curtains of my room, acting as an alarm clock.  I didn't want to get up, but life doesn't ever let me do what I want.  I proceeded to get up and walk out into the empty living room. No sound of Sera cooking, nothing.

Right, she's still in hospital, I should probably go and pick her up.

I decided to skip breakfast and just get dressed and headed for the hospital where Sera was at after the incident.  As I was walking down the street I passed by a TV store as saw the news was covering what happened last night.

News Reporter: "Piltover Enforcement have so far refused to release any names of the people involved, both killed and hospitalized."

I just sigh and keep walking until I get to the hospital.  As I cross through the sliding doors of the hospital I can see Sera signing some paperwork and talking to the receptionist.  I decide to wait for her and just take a seat.  After a few minutes  I hear Sera walk up.

Seraphine: "Hey Dare."

I could sense her unease and stress, after all who wouldn't be in her situation.   The best I could do is try to be the best friend I could be.

Darrien: "Hey Sera, how are you feeling?"

Seraphine: "I'm alright, a little shaken, but overall I am alright,  doctor said I should be okay to continue as normal, no aftereffects."

She smiled at me, but I could sense that she was trying to ease my worry, sadly due to my use of my ability, my sensitivity was going haywire, just the change in her breathing gave it away.  She was scared.

This is my fault.  If I had dealt with him sooner..... If I had done a better job.......

???: "Murderer"

???: "Monster"

I could see in the corner of my eye, two bloody figures, one an adult man, the other a child, I knew who they were, even without turning my head.  My father and brother.  The two people I killed, because of my power.  I tried to ignore them, and just decided to walk with Sera.

Even after walking all the way home, they are still there, always following me, always reminding me.

Even after all this time, you still linger huh? Dad.... Atlas....

I decided to go to bed, and try to ease the torture.

Evelynn POV

Evelynn: "So did you find anything?"

???: "Not much, but I did.  Any reason for such interest in a random person Miss Evelynn?"

Evelynn: "Fate, I pay you to find me information, not ask questions."

Twisted Fate then hands me a vanilla folder and then tip his hat and start to leave.

Twisted Fate: "Well until next time Miss Evelynn."

After he leaves I open the folder to find a two page report on 'Darrien Walker'.  A boy with a troubled past getting into a lot of fights, but tried hard to stop at the age of 10 when his younger brother was born.  He is tied to an event that occurred killing his father and brother.  His mother is currently in a coma, at St. Soraka Hospital, and has been for over 13 years.  Darrien is somehow tied to Kai'Sa, as I noticed they both went to the same high school.  Could he the 'Ren' person she was looking for?  As I kept reading nothing really stood out to me until I noticed that his file said he has no ability.
