I Just Want You To Be Happy

Chapter 9

Tori:

It was Friday morning as I was getting ready for school. Honestly I couldn't wait for the weekend to come. I sighed as I looked around the living room and kitchen to make sure I wouldn't forget anything important.

Trina sat at the table painting her nails. I rolled my eyes a little at that. But then Val grabbed my attention. My little sister hopped down the stairs with a big smile on her face and she was also humming a song to herself. Even Trina gave her a look.

"What the hell makes you smile like that, baby sis?" Trina asked curiously.

I had a guess and couldn't help the smirk on my face.

"I bet it has something to do with her date with Cat yesterday. Still didn't get the details out of her."

"Ooooh, she had a date?! Tell us everything!"

I saw her cheeks turning pink.

"We watched a movie and then I walked her home. I did enjoy it but don't think too much into it. She invited me and I went with her because I wanted to join her so she doesn't have to go on her own."

"Of course but I know you do like her a lot." I said.

"I'll see her at school today. Honestly I'm nervous. Tori right when you called me yesterday we were about to kiss."

I widened my eyes realizing what I did. I ruined my sisters moment with Cat! This feeling of guilt bubbled up inside of me.

"Oh I'm so sorry I didn't know..."

"It's alright." She shrugged it off though I could tell she was a little bummed anyways, "She might come over again and we do some music. Maybe I'll get another chance then."

"I really hope so." I said.

"Actually there's something else I need to tell you. So tonight there's a party I was invited to. I want to go so I will be home late."

I was a bit surprised by that reveal but I was also happy for her. Though all kind of things came up in my mind that might go wrong at such a party. Especially getting home afterwards. What if someone was being rude or a little too touchy with her. What if they make her consume drugs or force her to smoke or drink just because it's cool?

I bit my lip. Val was growing up and of course she will try things out just like Trina or I did. Pictures of when we all were younger came up inside of my mind. There were a couple times when mom and dad took us to the beach. Val always was the first to run for the ocean to go swim. Mum made Trina and I, at least one of us, look after her and join her. So Trina would usually push me saying it was my turn. It was always my turn but I didn't mind it's how I grew closer to her over the years. But don't get me wrong Trina loved her too and they both do have their own moments as well.

I smiled when another memory came up. It was around Christmas time one year after Trina peed on Santa Clause. We were right there again telling him our wishes. In the line behind us were some boys  without their parents. They were mean towards Val, pulled her hair and stuff. I think they wanted us to move away so they could go first. But anyways Trina totally got all protective over her and shouted at them while I had my arm around Vals shoulders protectively. Trina actually made them stop and be quiet.

"Tori?"

I blinked as I got back to the present and saw Val looking at me.

"Huh?"

"You coming? It's time to go." She said, "Are you alright? You look like you weren't really here for a bit."

"Oh yeah of course and I'm glad you get to that party. But if anything happens you know you can call me or Trina or any of our friends. We'll be there for you." I reminded her.
