Rhaenyra screamed in pain. She never expected for childbirth to be this painful. Laenor sat walking back and fourth in the hallway as Daemon tried to calm him down. Rhaenyra didn't care for the fact that she was exposed for everyone to see. She didn't are that she had ripped her night dress off and laid fully nude. All she cared was that the pain stopped and that her baby was healthy. For hours she panted yelled sweated and cried before the pain stopped. However she didn't hear the cry of a newborn babe.

"What is it?" Rhaenyra said.

"It's a girl princess."

"But is she okay. Why isn't she crying?"

"I-I'm sorry princess. But the babe is a stillborn. She's not moving or breathing."

"C-can I hold her? Please?" Rhaenyra said. Her throat felt like it was on fire as she did her best to swallow the sobs that were threatening to rip threw her throat.

The maids handed Rhaenyra her stillborn babe. Rhaenyra said as she held out her arms. Crying in agony Rhaenyra held her daughter in her arms rocking herself back and fourth. She didn't let anyone near her for hours and forbid Laenor and even Daemon to come into the room. Rhaenyra soon fell asleep due to exhaustion.

In her sleep Rhaenyra heard a voice.

Put the babe in the fire. She is more dragon than you know.

Waking up abruptly Rhaenyra held her daughter's corpse close as she stood on shaky legs. Slowly she walked to the room with the biggest fire place in the castle. Both Daemon and Laenor spotted her and helped her walk. They stayed quiet and guided her where she wanted to go. Rhaenyra went to the fire place and placed her daughter within the flames ignoring the burns her own hands suffered.

Rhaenyra fell back into Daemon's arms as she watched the babe. Instead of burning like they expected, Rhaenyra, Daemon and Laenor experienced a miracle. The color came back to the child's skin and a loud cry was heard. Rhaenyra quickly grabbed the baby and held her close to her chest. Calming down the babe snuggled close to her mother's chest.

"Look at her ears. And look at her hands." Laenor said. The babe's ears were long and pointed. And her nails were sharpened to a point and tougher than a regular babe's nails. "She's our little miracle."

"She is a true born dragon." Rhaenyra said. The two spent time together with their firstborn daughter. Hours later Laenor asked a question that made Rhaenyra think about everything.

"When shall we show her to our families?" Laenor asked.

"Never! This stays between the three of us. We will appoint Sera to care for her and we will close the South halls and tower for her.  Nobody other than us shall know what had happened. She is too precious and too valuable." Rhaenyra said. Daemon and Laenor both agreed though it hurt Rhaenyra to keep her first born from her father and it hurt Laenor to keep her from his sister and parents. But they knew that it was for the best and was the safest decision for the child.

"What shall be her name?" Daemon asked. Rhaenyra smiled at the sleeping babe in her arms.

"Dracona Velaryon. As she is our little she-dragon."
