The Problem

It was a normal day in the tropical forest and all of its animals were enjoying it. But the residents heard something rustling in the bushes. Next thing they knew, they were screaming as they were being chased by a wolf-based creature. Soon, the screaming stopped...

...as there was no one else ALIVE to scream.

...

Back at CLADE HQ...

The Covert League of Animal Detective Experts were enjoying a nice free day of no cases to solve...

...until...

"Agent Snow, Agent Casey, my office. NOW." Director Scratch called out.

"I wonder what's ruffled her feathers?" Kit wondered.

After they made it through a tunnel to her office like every other mission, they then sat down.

"Agent Sam, Agent Kit, apologies for your free day ruined, but the mouse siblings sent us pictures of a homicidal murder," she informed them.

"A homicidal murder? This is...new for us," Kit said in confusion.

"We've never really solved any murder cases before. Can we please see the pictures?" Sam asked.

"Are you sure?" She asked back worryingly.

The two nodded.

"Then you two are going to need these," Scratch told them as she handed them brown paper bags. "What you two are about to see is completely sickening. Believe me, I know."

She hands them the folder. As soon as they opened it and pulled them one by one, they gagged at the pictures, until the final made them yak in their bags as they ducked under the tables.

"Yes. That's exactly what happened to me," Scratch said.

"What kind of animal would do something like this?" Sam asked.

"Here's a footprint of the animal that did this," the CLADE Director answered as she gave them a picture of a pawprint that looked canine. "I was hoping our resident fountain of animal knowledge would enlighten us," she referred to Kit.

Kit grabbed the photo, looked at it hard, and finally exhaled in defeat. "Sorry, Director, I don't have the foggiest clue on what this mysterious animal is," she sighed.

"I may not be much of an animal expert such as you, Kit, but it looks like a wolf paw," Sam assured her.

"That's just it, Sam, this is too big to be a wolf. It's a member of the Canine family, but it's too big to be a wolf. We've seen wolves, Sam; even their feet. This..is not a wolf," Kit reassured Sam.

"So, there is a mysterious beast walking through the forest, harming or killing innocent creatures, and not even our best animal expert can deter what this creature is? We are doomed if we cannot find and stop this creature before it's too late," Peggy Scratch said in defeat.

"Sorry, Director Scratch," Kit apologized.

"Worry not, Kit, you did your best," she reassured Kit. "And we haven't been defeated yet, so I need the two of you to arm yourselves with an arsenal of CLADE'S best capturing devices to find and immobilize this creature before it's too late. Now go, and good luck, agents. The safety of all animals depend on you and all of CLADE to find this murderer," she ordered.

The two saluted. "We're on it, Chief," the two promised and headed down the chute.

After they were gone, Peggy Scratch grabbed one of the photos again and started to turn green, grabbed a trash can, ducked under the desk, and threw up into the trash can. "Ugh, barbarically revolting," she groaned.

Part 2 will be in the works...
