"I missed you so much Mom" said Karan hugging Juhi Mahajan tightly.

"Nobody missed me?" asked Deepak Mahajan.

"I missed you Dad" said Monami and hugged him.

"See only my daughter loves me" said Deepak.

"Chup ho ja Papa ki chamchi" said Juhi.

Everyone laughed. The spark of Karan's eyes was now returned because of the presence of two of the most important people in his life. He knew Monami had called them for him. He knew they had come specially for him. He knew Monami had told them everything the night before. Yes , he was awake then. And was overwhelmed by Monami's love for him. And now his mind was crystal clear. He had the future paths quite straight in his head. The facts and figures matched perfectly. He loved her. He loved Monami. He loved his best friend. He loved his Monu. Like he always did. Karan's heart was filled with new found emotions. He now felt a certain kind of responsibility towards these three. He mentally planned that he will propose Monami today itself. Today is certainly the most beautiful day of his life . As they all were going to the mess , Karan pulled Monami towards himself and held her firmly against him. 

"Thank you Monu" he said resting his forehead on Monami's.

Monami caressed his cheek with her thumb. "Pagal mujhe thank you bologe"

Karan smiled and placed a kiss on her forehead and said , "Jo baat tum sunna chahti ho na woh mein zarur kahunga. Aaj hi kahunga. Bilkul uss tarah se jaise meri Monu deserve karti hai." He again kissed her forehead and left from there.

Monami again, " I will be waiting my best friend"

Evening

Monami went to her room and found a gift box and was stunned to see it . She picked it up and read the note on it  and it said , 'Doctor Monami Mahajan, I never thought I would be saying this to you , but I want to see you in this dress my lady. Waiting to see you as someone new. Though I have always done it and perhaps,  that's what in my destiny as well, to embrace every new change of my life , good or bad with you by my side. And since you seem to be quite experienced in this field , I want to make my appointment permanent.  Please meet me on the terrace at 7pm sharp.

Monami smiled through her tears. "I never knew that Karan can be soo cheesy. You have raised the bar of my expectations high Spl Agent . Let's see what more have you got in store ". She wore the dress , a comfy baby pink frock obviously exactly the way Monami liked. She saw the time. 6:59 pm.(too cliche i know but had to go according to the story line, sorry ppl) She decided to go to the terrace. She was excited and nervous. 

She went to the terrace and was left open mouthed. The terrace was decorated in a minimalist fashion , with her favourite plants,  terrariums hanging from the roof. There were her favourite lights decorated over the plants. She bent down stroking one of them and then turned around to see Karan walking towards her , an elegant smile gracing his face. She stood up and went to him and said , "Really have outdone yourself this time haven't you?" 

Karan grinned , " Had to impress someone badly , so hence the working of my brain" He delicately took hold of one of her hands and together they walked around the terrace to admire the love of Karan for Monami.  After one round Karan took her to centre of the terrace . Monami was in awe of the gentle side of Karan. He was the same Karan who hit her with a pillow every morning.  'Just how fast the night changes' , never felt so true to Monami. 

Karan took both her hands and she waited anticipately. Karan looked at her to find her looking at him with affection. He knew that this was the time. She was his person. He had found her. He never believed in soul mates but he believed in her. He never believed in promises but he believed in her. He never believed in love but he believes her. He had to say it. He had to make her , his. Not in a dominant way. They had always tied friendship bands to each other in the past as a mark of their infinite friendship. Now it was the time to make her wear the wedding band as a mark of their infinite love.

 Karan smiled and bent down on his knees and knew that he would do this for her anytime.  He took a deep breath and began , "You may have found my invitation cheesy enough but you have still shown up here so I expect I have reached half of the goal by now". They both giggled. He was fondling  with her hands. "As always you know what I want to say to you but you will still pester me enough so that I get tired and end up saying the thing myself. Today I would not do such a thing. I won't go around in circles. So, Monami Mahajan , since childhood I always had the honour of being called as your best friend. I am grateful that you were there for me always. Through the most difficult of times. You have wiped my tears when everyone would just leave me alone. You have held me whenever I was weak enough to hold myself. You have patted my shoulder whenever I did something good. You have given me peace whenever I found myself in chaos . No , no don't deny. Everyone knows it is true. I am sorry if I am being selfish , but I crave for this comfort all my life. So would you kindly continue to do ,  what you did till now in the future as well? Would you give me the honour of changing my title from your best friend to your husband. Will you give me the honour of being your life? Would you marry me , Ms Mahajan?" 

And by the time he finished both of them were in tears. Monami bent down and kissed his forehead.

"Shall I take it as my answer?" he asked. "Yes yes" said Monami.

 He got up and hugged  her tightly and whispered in her ear , "I love you so much Monu"

"I love you too Karan" , said Monami tears flowing through her eyes. 

"I have seen all kind of responses to a proposal , but I have never seen anyone cry" said a cheeky Karan.

"Yeah" she said. "My old Karan is back" and kissed his cheek.

Karan grinned and again hugged her tightly. She reciprocated smilingly. 

"This is our love Monu. I promise to preserve it forever" he said

"I promise it too Karan. That I will take care of it everyday . My love , your love and Our Love", said Monami.

They smiled and kissed each other's forehead and walked down to give everyone the good news. They now embark upon their journey forever.
