Mackenzie, is my name, but my friend calls me Kenzie for short. I was a skinny girl And I feel most insecure about my body when I look in the mirror I think that I see an hideous figure. and Anytime I would be in emotional spiral as a child, my mom would tell me, "man sees what appears to the eyes, but for God, he sees what the heart is , and everyone has a different perspective no matter what you look like, there will always be some people who think you're attractive and others who don't.the important thing is that you're healthy. that's what matters to those who truly care about you. also I was a Dyslexia person my teacher said I'm a slow leaner. they say Mackenzie you're not strong, you're lazy girl, you're not clever, You do not do your lesson right. You are not smart. They always laugh at me.
I was born in Africa country and I'm the only child. I was just Eight years old when my parent divorced .
My Dad always maltreated my mom ,
My mother and father have been married for 15years. When I was really little I don't ever remember these problems accruing but as I got older in 5th grade and 6th grade I do , married have a 15 months old and live over a 200 miles away from home. My father has been on Mom about her weigh for years. He says she promised him before they got married she would never weight more than 110 IBS. Well my mom isn't, she has dieted everyday that I can remember and fight losing weight all the time. My dad has been violent over the years ripping the phone out of the wall numberous times when I try to call for help, throwing cereal bowl at the wall, hitting me, wrestling my mom down, getting a knife out and saying he was going to cut her fat off. He tells her he can't stand to look at her. Well this is one of many compliments he hate his job, he thinks my mom is a liar and is stealing the money they inherited from his parents when they passed. My mother has a daycare and she took care of my father's dad before he passed for 8 months. She did everything, she loved him has he was a daughter. My Father has cheated on my mother when I was little and he told her. My mother has been a faithful and loving wife . But back to my story last night, he fight got heated and my father throw a remote at my mom and her nose started to bleed , he let the air out of her tires and she started to sound the alarm so he quit and came in the house. Then he looked her out and she told him if he didn't let her out and she was going to call the crops, so he let her in . Keep in mind my mom does home daycare and she needed to go get grocery for today and did not have Time to cancel on everyone. When she went to the store he timed her and if she wasn't back by the 15 minutes he was going to lock her out again. My auntie, me and everyone has told them to leave each other. So my mom decided to leave the house with me, we left the city to the village to start a new life.
So it was time to go, I hadn't planned to cry but the tears came suddenly and I wiped them away with the back of my hand.
It's almost time, Mackenzie, my mother said gently. Her face was filled with a kind of sadness. I had never seen before. I looked around at my empty room. The clothes that mama always told me to hang up in the closet the junk piled on my dresser, my doll I could never bear to part____
They were all gone. There was nothing left in my room my mom started packing those big impossible things into an enormous duffel bag along with the umbrellas, kettle, hot plate, and flashlight.
"Who going to carry that huge sack"? I asked.
But mama didn't worry about things like that. "Someone will help us", she said. "Don't worry". So I didn't. It was a warm day, but I put on a sweater and my coat so I would have to carry them, and I picked up my suitcase. My mom was taking one last look around our house. She had lived in for fourteen years, so she would never forget it.
