The royalty of hell

At first I thought I'd got some mascara in my eye, but when trying to wipe it away gently with the tip of my finger did I notice that the black colouring wasn't moving, therefore I tried looking in multiple directions and rubbing my eyes, But to my horror the black colouring in my irises wouldn't budge, even worse it reminded me of spilt nail varnish, as it looked like my pupil was dripping into my iris and staining the blue colouring in my eyes. My watch beeped, signalling that I should be on my way to school, I quickly gathered my things and some glasses and snuck off to school.

For most of the day I pretended I had terrible hay fever and that I needed my glasses to stop pollen getting in my eyes, however in class they wouldn't allow me to wear my glasses so I kept my head down and pretended to be really keen in my work, whilst deep down my stomach wrenched and I was so on edge that my whole body shivered furiously.

*rrrriiiinnnggg*

I had spent most of the maths lesson on how to use Pythagoras's theorem, staring at the clock and occasionally looking like I was working, waiting for the clock to strike 3:05 and for school to finish, so by the time the bell had rang I had packed my bag and about to rush down the corridor to my locker, when miss Mckenzie tapped me on the back, I flipped around to see her typically concerned face she usually pulled at the confused students and the really thick teachers. I ducked my head quickly to avoid her seeing my eyes which made it look like I was shy and innocent, exactly what I was going for.

"Sarah can you stay behind for a second, I need to talk to you" she asked as patronisingly as possible.

Damn I thought, not now

I positioned myself at an uncomfortable green plastic chair next to her desk and we sat awkwardly as the class slowly drained out of the room. Once the room was clear she made the exact same face and integrated me.

"Sarah I noticed your not yourself today and that you weren't paying attention in the lesson, is everything alright at home?"

"Yes miss everything's fine it's just...
I stumbled for an excuse
Crap
"My hay fever, you see I can't concentrate at all today, my throat and nose feel horrible"
Nice save I thought.
Until I saw her disapproving face, she knows that I lied

"Sarah seriously, I've taught you for 3 years now and possibly heard 34 different stories as to where your homework is and how you happened to leave it at home, do you really expect my to be buying this?"

"....."I panic and try to look embarrassed
Nervously I place a pair of gloves on ready to walk home.

" Look at me in the eyes right now and tell me the truth or I'll tell the headteacher that you cannot focus in lessons and you should be moved down a couple of sets!"

Slowly my eyes crept up to her face to meet hers, that's when I saw the fear roll into her bright green eyes and I registered her face tighten as she was about to scream, just before she screamed and cause a lot of trouble I didn't need, did I launch the sharp compass that I had been messing with thought out the whole lesson into her neck, drag her behind the desk and choke her, I then climb through an open window break into one of the teachers cars and position her dead body inside the boot.

After closing the boot do i realise what I have done, I just killed my maths teacher, it felt like It was a memory, something I didn't even do. I look down at my hands that are protected by gloves, I'd connived myself I put them on so I wouldn't be cold when walking home but really I think I subconsciously did it so I left no finger prints, I sharpened my compass all lesson convincing myself it was just "fiddling" to pass the time, yet I know some part of me did it to prepare for murder.

Before leaving the school I binned my blood stained blouse and wore one from lost property ones that stank of BO and was 2 sizes too big and swapped my red painted shoes for a pair of simple black ballerina type shoe things.

When walking home I went in to a fancy dress shop, I marched to the back of the shop and picked up some blue coloured contacts, paid and left, all while hiding my eyes from the shop assistant. Whilst walking I struggled slotting the coloured contacts into my eyes, after several attempts and very sore eyes I successfully got the contacts in and they looked vey similar to my own actual eyes.

Once reaching the house I entered and closed the door gently, then began making my way up the stairs to my bedroom before sliding the bolt across, I removed the contacts in the mirror by the windowsill, to reveal the mess my eyes have now become, the iris was halfway full and the colour looks almost drained out as though the sun is setting and the darkness is beginning to roll in for the night.

I don't understand though, it said I have 10 years. This shouldn't be happening yet.

I scour the book for demons and bargains and find something that says that "the bargain is always held up unless there is a change of royalty in hell", hell has royalty? So what this means is that the royalty that was on the throne when I made my deal has been overthrown and been replaced.

And now they're coming for my soul early
