I can't do my fucking job anymore. I can't write a good fucking book. All I do is drink the day to death. Today I left the house. I walked through the city and got to a motorway. There's a bridge and a girl sat on the edge of the bridge. I stumbled over. I look over the edge of the bridge. Maybe it's time. I climb up the edge of the bridge. I look down weighing up the fall. fuck it. Goodbye cruel world. I jumped from the bridge. I feel someone grab hold of me she screams as we hit the floor. My eyes start to close. There it is the sweet release of death. It's finally over.

Present day

After a very stop start journey as Lucy found her street we eventually got to her place. Its a nice little house. We're standing outside when she hands me the key "do you think you could unlock it for me" she says. I unlock the door and she pulls me inside. Her house is quite bright. I look over and see a bookshelf that is laden with various books. On a closer inspection there is a section on the bookshelf explicitly saved for my books. "I actually prefer your house," I say. Lucy had her back to me. She spins on heel "what do you mean?" she asked me. I chuckle. "It's small, my house is too big for just me. I like the homeliness of this palace whereas my own house is pretty bare bones, ''I say. I'm looking around the house. Its walls are painted cream. The bookcase is vintage wood. The coffee table is antique. In fact a lot of the furniture is rather antique. "I mean if you really want we can stay here" she says. I walk over to her and set my hand on her shoulder. It's at this moment that I realise there's a rather large height difference between us. "Well it depends on what you want to do," I say. Lucy is almost staring off into the distance but I think It's because I'm touching her shoulder like this. "Well I quite like the idea of making your house more homely but if you want to stay here. Then let's do that." I look back at the antique furniture. "Well I'll let you make my house more homely and I'll figure out what to write for a new book" she packs a suitcase full of clothing with my help and we head back to my place. When we get there I help her to the spare bedroom and I dig out my laptop. We sat down in the living room. "So what do you think of the title, everything in between" i ask her. She nods her head eagerly "it's good. It's very good." she says

Chapter 1

It's a winter's day. The snow is flying through the air. I'm staring out the inn's window wondering if the snow storm is going to stop anytime soon. There's a girl sitting behind me. She's maybe 5 foot 2 and she has long brown hair. She's holding a cup of coffee and she's looking out a window. Maybe she's looking out the window wondering the same thing as me. Whether the snow is going to stop. Me and her keep looking out our respective windows but every now and then we sneak a glance in each other's direction. In the end the girl gets up and comes over to me. "So what do you think?" she says. Look at her confused for a second "sorry? "I say. She chuckles "the snow do you think it'll stop at some point or is it just gonna carry" she says. I look out the window once again "I think we could be here for a while" I say. She smiles "well best get to know each other" she says. I smile "sure might as well my name is James what about you" I say.

"So what should I name the girl?" I ask Lucy. She looks confused for a second. "You're doing a James by the way" I say. She chuckles. "Sorry I was just so into listening to you write and read at the same time. You should call her anna" she says. I chuckle "anna it is" I say.

"I'm anna. It's nice to meet you James" she says. She takes a sip of her coffee and goes back to staring out the window "so what are you up here for" she asks me. I start to look out the window as well "nothing interesting really just a business conference what about yourself" i say. I'm staring out the window wondering if this whole conference is about to be a wrap as the snow continues to pound the window. "I'm a guest speaker at a business conference funnily enough" she says. I turn to her and shoot her an inquisitive look "what conference are you here for?" I ask her. Whilst looking at her I managed to get a good look at her face. Her long hair goes down just past her shoulders. Her eyes are a greeny-blue. "Oh, just an accounting one in the city," she says. I'm here for an accounting conference in the city. "You wanna know something funny" I say she shoots me an inquisitive look. "I'm here for an accounting conference in the city," I say. She laughs "no way" she says. I nod my head laughing as well. We keep on talking for hours. That time just skips by. Eventually she looks at her watch "oh shit" she says. I look at my own watch it's quarter to midnight. "I probably should get to bed," she says. I nod my head in agreement "will I see you tomorrow" i ask her. She nods her head "you just might James" she says before she gets up and turns on heel she walks out of the room and up the stairs to her room.

I end the chapter and look at Lucy. "So what do you think?" I ask her. She nods her head and then pauses for a second weighing up what to say next. "IT'S SO GOOD" she says almost flying out of her seat as she says them. I put my hand on her knee to stop her from flying off the seat and into my coffee table. I look at my watch "oh bloody hell I didn't realise the time." I say. "Why what time is it" she says I chuckle "well we've been up all night writing my book its two twenty two in the morning. "Oh shit" she says with a little laugh. I help her up and take her to her room. "You need a hand with anything just give me a shout" I say before leaving the room. I head over to my room. What did I do to deserve meeting Lucy and her helping me to refinding my passion for writing. I sit down on the edge of my bed. I slide under the covers and turn off the light.
