"...Claire..." Leon softly called, waving his hand in front of her face.
Claire didn't realize that Leon was trying to get her attention. She was spaced out, not really noticing anything around her. This wasn't the first time she'd spaced out, and it won't be the last. She eventually drifted back into focus after a few seconds of her daze.
Leon smiled and took a sigh of relief, knowing that she's back from her daze. "Hey! What happened?" Leon asked, expressing concern.
"What do you mean?" Claire asked, clearly confused. "What did I miss?"
"Claire, you got me nervous. I think you spaced out for a little bit. I'm glad you're okay, though." Leon replied, taking a sip of his drink.
"I...I'm sorry, I don't mean to-" she started to say, but quickly got interrupted.
"Hey, you're okay, that's all that matters. I think we need to get you back to your house." He reassured her.
Claire was going to protest because they were going out later, but Leon insisted that she'd stay in for the night.
They drove back to Claire's place in silence. Nothing but the sound of the gentle breeze of the spring-ish summer wind blowing through their hair and a beautiful sunset that is starting to form, kissing their skin.
As Claire was enjoying the view, she was lost in her thoughts again. She was making up scenarios of her and Leon, and occasionally with Sherry in the picture.
"Do you, Leon Kennedy, take Claire as your wedded wife? To love in sickness, health, richer or poorer?" A voice speaks.
"I do." Leon answers.
"Do you, Claire Redfield take Leon as your wedded husband? To love in sickness and in health? For the richer or poorer?" A voice speaks.
Claire snaps out of her trance once again and looks around her surroundings. "WHAT, NO!" She yelled, jolted out of the car seat.
"Are you okay?" Leon asked, showing genuine concern for her.
"I..um.. yeah. Sorry, I got lost in my head again." She calmed down and started to relax.
'No, I can't love him. Why now?' She thought to herself, taking more time to relax.
"You scared me. Are you sure you're alright? Maybe you should get some sleep." He suggested, pulling into Carie's driveway.
"What? No way! I don't need a doctor." Claire giggled, showing her deep red cheeks.
Leon put his car in park and turned the car off, "I think between you looking for Chris, and after our nightmare in Raccoon City, you need a well needed break. I may not be a doctor, but I can tell when someone is stressed."
"No but I like how you are kinda like one." Claire mumbled.
"What?" He asked, wanting her to repeat what she said.
"What?" She quickly followed up right after his.
"No, what did you say?" He asked, once again.
"It's nothing. Never mind." She chuckled, as a blush appeared on her cheeks. "C'mon, let's go inside!" She got out of the car and sprinted to the front door.
She rushed to open the door and left it cracked open for Leon. She locked herself in the bathroom and sat on the floor, with her head on her knees. Claire started to panic, but she was struggling to calm herself down. All she could think about is the fact that she had rushing thoughts.
'No, you can't love him. Not now. What's wrong with you? You're not stable enough to have a relationship.' Claire's thoughts rushed through her mind, only making the situation worse.
