New Memories - 2

It took a long hug and opening a new pack of ice cream for Chaeyoung to calm down. They sat on the couch as she ate her ice cream and Jungkook asked her to list everything they used to do here.

The list was pretty small, They never came here early, they were here from lunch to dinner. So, they had lunch that they packed, went boating in the lake, came back to a campfire, and had a dinner that they cooked.

But the problem is, that is what everyone does, in fact, that is part of what he planned too. But now he has to make sure she has the best time doing each activity, so she forgets all about him.

She promises to try and have a great time and tell him anything she remembers about him.

They are well-rested, and the weather is perfect for some boating. They row to the middle of the lake and click pictures. After Chaeyoung is satisfied with all the pretty pictures she took they sit there in silence.

She says she and her ex just rowed around and got back. Jungkook smiles and pulls out two fishing rods. He hands one to her and says, "Let's get some fish, I can see many here." The lake was not so deep, and the water was very clear so they can see a few fish swimming underneath.

Chaeyoung gets very excited, this is new, and she never fished in her life. So, she asks him to teach her. After showing her the basics, they cast their fishing rods and wait, talking about sweet nothings.

Jungkook was the first to catch a fish, he lets Chaeyoung reel it up. And they place the fish in a box under their seat. They wait for some time and Chaeyoung catches her first fish. She makes sure Jungkook records the entire process. She laughs in complete happiness as she pulls her fish up and shows it to the camera. She giggles and puts it safely in the box.

With the video turned off now and the fishing rod cast again they wait. Suddenly Jungkook looks at Chaeyoung with an evil smirk.

"Why are you looking at me like that? Whatever you are thinking right now, stop it", she warned him. But it was of no use. Jungkook stood up and removed his sweatshirt. Before Chaeyoung can process what was going on he jumped into the lake with his shorts.

"JUNGKOOK", she screamed scared of his foolish act. He came up for air and giggled like a kid.
"You jerk, you scared the shit out of me", she scolded.
"The water is not as cold as I expected thanks to the noon sun", he said swimming happily as if it was his personal pool. She smiled.

"I never caught fish barehanded, should I try?" he says looking at Chaeyoung who was filming his crazy antics on her phone with a smile. She gestured an ok with her hands and he dived in again. He came up again near the boat hugging a fish. The fish slipped his torso and fell onto the boat. Chaeyoung wanted a closer look at it so she tried picking it up with one hand while her other hand held her phone.

The fish was very slippery, it slapped its tail so hard it startled Chaeyoung making her drop it onto the boat again. Jungkook was watching the entire scene placing his chin on both his hands that were crossed on the boat. He laughed at Chaeyoung's startled expression and asked her to put it in the box with the other fish. She quickly did. Then she was silent for a second and started laughing. She came to this lake many times but never has something so crazy happen to her.

She was happy looking at her boyfriend swimming carelessly, "accidentally" splashing water at her. She had enough of his mischief. She removed her sweatshirt and shorts and jumped into the lake surprising him. The water was cold but not freezing, it was really like a swimming pool. She took her revenge by splashing a lot of water on him.

He pushed his tongue in his cheek. Chaeyoung knew that was bad news, that tongue meant he was now in his competitive mode. He was slowly swimming towards her covering his face from the splashes, but Chaeyoung knew the moment he reached her she will face the consequences.

So, she screamed and started swimming away, and he chased behind her. Just as she thought she was getting away he held her ankle and pulled her back toward him. She couldn't do anything except laugh. And laughing drained her energy more than the actual swimming did.

She thrashed around the water as Jungkook held her by her waist with her back to his chest spinning her around. After she said several sorry, he finally let her go. She was still giggling. "How did you catch a fish barehanded Kookie?" She asked. She wanted to try doing that too. He told her to take a deep breath and dive in.

Under the water, she could see several fish roaming around. She tried catching one, but it kept swimming away. He could see her pout underwater. Not affording to lose breath giggling he swims close to her and guides her on how to hold a fish between her arms. He holds her arms from behind as they swim near a fish, and he shows her how to hug it. So now Jungkook is hugging Chaeyoung who is hugging the fish.

They swim back up and Jungkook manages to take the fish from her and throw it into the boat. "Did you see that? I caught a fish bare-handed Kookie", Chaeyoung squeals in joy showing her biceps and kissing them in an attempt to tease him about being strong.
"Yes, you did my love." He said swimming to face her. He held her by her waist again as she wrapped her arms around his shoulder and legs around his torso. "I did not expect you to jump into the water", he said forehead touching hers.
"I didn't have the heart to leave my boyfriend swimming alone on our date", she giggled and placed her head on his shoulder tired. "Tired already?" He asked moving the hair sticking to her face.
"Mhmm", she replied having no energy anymore. He swam holding her to their boat and helped her climb in. He climbed in behind her and put the fish on the boat's floor back into their box.

He took her sweatshirt and helped her wear it. As she wore her shorts, he made her sit down and removed the scrunchie holding her hair up in a ponytail. Then he took his dry sweatshirt and wiped her hair dry. She kept protesting saying he should wear it if he doesn't want to catch a cold, but he insisted saying it was his fault to jump into the lake spontaneously when they didn't bring any spare clothes on their boat. After her hair is semi-dry, she forces him to sit down and wipe his wet head. After she gives him a thorough wipe, she removes the sweatshirt covering his face to see him looking at her fondly. "Have I ever told you how much I love you?" he asked looking at her with his pretty doe eyes. " Yes, every. single. day.", she said tapping on his cute nose with each word.
"Let's row back before we catch a cold", she said turning his sweatshirt inside out and tying it around his neck for some sort of cover from the winds.
The day was still lovely, the sun shining above their head gave them enough warmth to hopefully not get sick. They rowed back to their van. Tied the boat near the van and walked in.
Jungkook was still damp, and even though the water was clear, it was still a lake. So Chaeyoung told him to take a hot shower while she slices the fish they caught to cook for lunch. Once she is done slicing and marinating the fish, she smells a lot like seafood herself.

Assigning Jungkook the job to cook the fish, she heads to take a shower.
Coming out of the shower, she finds an entire spread. The fish was cooked, the rice ready, and many side dishes and snacks that he brought from home. Everything was laid out beautifully on the table outside. She is surprised but not shocked because knowing her boyfriend who has a huge appetite like her, food is one thing he always packs in abundance.
He is clicking pictures of the food when she arrives. She sits down and they start eating. After a few minutes, Jungkook stands up and walks behind her bending down to hug her as she eats. His big coat wrapped her too.

"I feel so cold, you are warm", he says with a pouty face resting on her shoulder nestling closer to her neck for warmth. She giggles letting him be there. He did this on many occasions before, so she did not mind. She fed him a few dishes as he lazily chewed them sitting behind her still wrapping his arms around her. After they finished eating, Chaeyoung instructed him to get some rest while she cleans up. Though Jungkook told her he had further plans for them, she insisted they sleep for at least an hour before doing anything. She was tired from the swimming but she knows Jungkook must be even more tired, he swam, drove all the way here and he did all the cooking. After much hesitation, he decided to listen to his girlfriend and get some sleep.

He drifted into sleep almost immediately but even in his sleep, he feels his girlfriend coming to bed and kissing his forehead, whispering I love you. He continued sleeping with a smile on his face.
