"What is this?" asked Emma, "A gate. It connects the inside and outside." said Norman "Outside? We've never been outside. We've been here all our lives, ever since we were born. Mama always says" "Don't go near the gate or the fence in the back of the forest because it's dangerous." said Norman "That's obviously a lie." said Ray "You think?" asked Emma tilting her head wearing a curious face "Hey, Ray. What would you want to do if you could go outside?" asked Y/n. "No idea, how about you y/n?" Ray asked looking at her "I want to go to a bookstore and see an ocean!" Y/n said happily "How about you, Emma?" they all turned to look at her "I want to ride a giraffe!" " Good luck with that." said Ray turning to look back "These bars and these gates" said Norman "what are they exactly protecting us from? " Y/n continued.

"Wake up everyone! or you'll be late for breakfast!" said Emma or rather shouted. "Morning Emma!" Y/n greeted her best friend with a smile, which Emma returned. "Good morning Y/n!"

'it's conny's last day in the house' Y/n looked at the ceiling with a sad smile.

"Y/n I can't get my shoes on!" " I can't tie my laces!" said some kids about to cry. "Okay! hold on! don't cry!"

After that, they went downstairs to eat breakfast. Y/n was carrying phil and was following Emma when she suddenly stopped making y/n almost trip.

Y/N POV:

"Good morning! Don, Conny and Little bunny!" Emma and I greeted them with huge smiles. They both returned the smiles saying "Good morning y/n! and Emma!" "Morning

We continued walking. Emma suddenly said "Look we're here" as soon as we entered the dining room. I let phil down, smiling saying "You were light as a feather phil!" letting out a small chuckle not noticing Ray glaring at us across the room. Two of the boys, Thoma and Lanni, pushed Emma forward. She turned around and said " Watch out! I'm going to eat you!"in a playful tone. I chuckled as phil followed them.

"They're at it again" said Gilda with a sigh, making me giggle and nod saying "mhm, as always!" Emma had already caught them and Phil jumped on top of them.

I then noticed Norman and Ray walking towards our direction. "Good morning Ray!" I said with a smile, "Good Morning Y/n" said Ray with a small smile making sure noone noticed, "Hm? forgot about me?" Norman said smirking and chuckling which ended up making me flustered "R-right good morning Norman" "Good morning simp" I glared at him with my face still heated up "Good morning Norman and Ray!" said Emma. "Morning, Emma" they said, with Norman waving at her with pink flushed cheeks and a smile 'who's a simp now? idiot.'

"You two are quite energetic. Even though you haven't eaten breakfast yet." said Norman "How old are you again, Emma? Five?" said Ray making sure to say it directly to Emma without including Y/n."Im 11 just like you guys!" I then heard a chuckle behind us. Emma and I turned around, looking up at Mama. "You're laughing too, Mama?" aske Emma almost crying "Emma, can you give me a hand over here? asked Mama

Emma pouting said " But Mama! I'm going to redo my entrance from the beginning." "Why I love that part about you." "That I'm five years old inside?" Mama shook her head saying "The part where you care deeply about our family. " Emma smiled widely " Thanks Mama!" which made me smile too, walking over to Ray.

I took my seat next to him. "Hey Ray?" I said "Yeah? what's up?" he asked "After eating, can I draw you?" I smiled hopeful. He looked at me and seemed somehow.. flustered? he didn't say anything, "Ray?"
