2. Sick Day

The Potter Manor is not as noisy as it is every morning.

Why?

"Tom can you please go and change the water in this bowl?" Lucius asked Tom who was sitting on the bed on the other side. In between both of them Severus was sleeping under the blankets with a wet cloth on his forehead.

Tom nodded taking the water bowl and left.

Lucius took the thermometer and put in in Severus's mouth gently. After sometimes it beeped and he took it out.

It was 104°F.

Lucius sighed in worry.

Harry was out of the town for an urgent work. He left the previous morning and Severus got sick.

Last night when Lucius was in his room studying an important document, Severus and Tom both came to his room with a pillow each.

They requested him to let them sleep with him as they were unable to sleep alone in their own rooms. Lucius knew they were going to show up any moment as Harry was out and this is what always happens. So without getting surprised he just gave them a nod and they both jumped in his bed on either side of Lucius and hugged him to sleep.

At midnight Lucius woke up to the sound of whimperings and sobbing. He saw that Severus was whimperings in his sleep and his body shivering.

He quickly got up and touched Severus's forehead. It was burning...
He immediately called for a maid and asked her to prepare a cold water bowl with a clean cloth.

In between all this commotion Tom woke up and he saw Lucius running around the room searching something. He sat up and asked in his hoarse voice, "What happened, luci?"

"Ohh tommy, you're up. Sev is sick." Lucius said and went inside the closet.

Tom was fully awake now he held Severus's hand and saw Lucius coming out of the closet with some blankets.

Lucius spread them over Severus's body and tucked him inside properly. The maid came with a tray consisting of a bowl filled with water and a clean white cloth.

Lucius took it from her and started putting with wet stripes on Severus's forehead to lower his temperature.

Lucius himself was a good doctor. He injected him some medicines and after an hour  the medicines started showing their effect.

Lucius looked at tom who was also looking very tensed and worried. He opened his arm and called for him. Tom went into Lucius's embrace and placed his head on his chest.

He yawned but kept his eyes open.

"Is sevy okay?"

"Yes dear...  Sev is okay now." Lucius said.

"When will Daddy come?" He asked and yawned again.

"Harry will come back tomorrow. I already called him and he will be back tomorrow."

"Hmm..."

"Sleep now. It's late and you are tired."

"But Sevy..."

"Sev is fine now.... and I am here. You also sleep." Lucius said and started patting tom's back to make him fall asleep.

Lucius stayed up all night taking care of Severus as his temperature kept rising any time. He made Tom sleep on the sofa in the room with was big enough for him to sleep. He didn't send tom back to his room to sleep because he knew that he would be anxious if he wakes up alone.
