Chapter 1

Diona

Grabbing the small bag of bugs and beetles, I sat it down on the counter. Crushing a lizards tail, plucking the wings of a dead butterfly, and topping it with a deceased slime. Mixing it all together was the fun part, I could only hope this drink would disgust an adult so much to have them quit drinking forever.

After mixing every ingredient, I put it in a drinking cup and looked around for the customer. I couldn't see him anywhere inside so I assumed he was outside, probably hunched over a table, drunk in broad daylight.

Stepping outside the Cat's Tail, I peeked at the fence and saw the back of his head. Grumbling, I made my way over to him. This isn't the first time he's come here, and he's so weird.

"Oh... for me? *hiccup*" He grabbed the drink from my hand and started chugging it in delight, disgusting. "If that's all, I'll be going back inside." I noticed his cheeks were flushed. "Okay *hiccup* I'll be back later tonight. For your amazing drinks!" I turned around and started walking back. I heard running footsteps, then suddenly a girl bumped into me from behind.

"Hey, watch where you're going!"

"I'm so very sorry!" The green haired girl apologized while running toward a blonde haired guy.

"Mr. Albedo, the experiment, something happened!"

It was my break time, as I wiped down the counters I checked my pocket bag, I had used all the dirty bugs in drinks. I figured I should use this time wisely and look for more disgusting tasting bugs to create a new concoction that these drunkards would truly despise.

"I'm heading out."

"To get more condiments, I assume?"

"Of course! I have to teach these stupid drunkards a lesson!"

"Oh, that reminds me. The shipping from Inazuma and Liyue is having problems. So there won't be any specialities for a while."

"Then I'll have to make the most of what's here in Mondstadt"

Walking around the mountain surrounding Starfell Lake, I picked up all kinds of goods. More lizards, different slime goop, random beetles. I even found the tails of two different types of lizards, Red Horned and Green Horned. Though I wasn't as excited as I thought I would be.

"Oh, and not to mention. Diona is also pretty cute... just like a little kitty.
Oh no... did I say that out loud? Uh, please don't tell her I said that!"

"Hmph! Dumb adults!" I kicked a pebble near a tree. "Why didn't the traveler tell me this? Why did I have to eavesdrop to find out?!" I kept kicking the pebble 'till I made my way to the lake, having it splash in the water.

I must have been thinking too long, as soon as I looked up it started getting dark.

I made my way back to the bridge that led to Mondstadt by following the dirt path. By this time it was almost too dark to see without the lights. I took the pocket bag out and checked inside to fill my head with ideas on what my next disgusting drink should be.

"Diona!"

I looked up to see Klee waving her arms at me in excitement, running towards me and then making an abrupt stop, almost falling flat on her face.

"Where are you going?" I asked.

"I'm going to see Albedo, my mom says to stay with him when it gets dark out. I was with him earlier but I saw these cute flowers on display that I forgot all about him! Have you seen him? He has yellow hair and he has a long coat!"

Yellow hair? Oh!

" Oh! I saw him earlier! Some green hair lady rudely bumped into me and then ran to him! She didn't even check to make sure I was okay! Hmph!"

" Oh! That's Sucrose! She's Albedo's assassin!"

"Assassin?"

"No," she shook her head disappointingly "she's not really one. Albedo calls her his assistant, but when he told me at first, I thought he said assassin. I still like to think she is a super cool assassin though that works for him because Albedo is so cool!" She answered, excitingly.

"Though Albedo asks me to not call Sucrose an assassin because it will cause uhm... misunderstanding and uhm... he also said things about the Favonius but I wasn't listening much!" She beamed with joy.

Grabbing her backpack and rummaging around, she grabbed a paper that looked to have been through a lot.

"I made a drawing of Sucrose as an assassin! She has this super cool black outfit I drew her! She also has this super cool weapon I drew for her! See?!"

She pointed at the drawn weapon.

"I'm drawing a lot more now! Albedo says if I keep practicing then I can be really good! I hope I can be as good as him and go sail on big ships to draw for people!"

She put the paper back in her backpack and threw it over her shoulder.

"Well I'll see you tomorrow! Albedo says we can come by and get some juice at the Cat's Tail!"

I waved goodbye to her and she made her way towards the mountains.

At least I have something to look forward to.

It is already almost noon and Klee isn't here. Throughout the day, while I was cleaning the outside table, I would snoop around to try to see if Klee, Albedo, or the green haired meanie was there.

I caught a glimpse of blonde hair.

Is it Albedo?! Oh no, it's just the Traveler. Wait, The Traveler!

"Traveler!"

They turned around and looked down at me.

"Oh hey Diona! The Traveler and I were just stopping by to pick up food for somebody near Diluc's!" Paimon told me.

Ugh.

"Have you seen Klee at all? She was supposed to be here!"

"No we haven't. Is she missing? I better go tell Albedo."

"Wait! No she's not missing, ugh! She probably just forgot!" I rolled my eyes.

"Anyway, I'm still trying to make disgusting drinks but these dumb adults will chug anything I make! I've tried almost everything here in Mondstadt, and since the shipping from the other Nations are not working. I was wondering if we could go get some ourselves!"

"You want to walk to Liyue and Inazuma for some bugs?" Paimon gave me a weird look.

"Yes! It's really important to make these adults hate drinking alcohol, I won't stop at anything! I'll pay you in Mora and food!"

Paimon looked intrigued.

"Alright, you should study where to find the bugs you are looking for in the Nations. Liyue and Inazuma are pretty big." Traveler noted.

I nodded my head in agreement.

"I'll study at Ms. Lisa's!"

"Alright, we'll leave in 2 days early morning."

I waved goodbye to the traveler and Paimon and made my way back inside the Cat's Tail.
