A small baby was born on the 10th of March, year X. A young boy had sat in the room, a prince. About 2 years old, not knowing that it was a baby girl that had been born just now. Thinking it was a boy, and the 2 year old had a brother. “Mama,” the young boy asked, “What is his name?” His mother had smiled at her young son, “It is a her, my little prince. You have earned yourself a younger sister. Her name shall become part of yours, remember your duty when you grow. Protect her soul at all costs, and never astray of her. You hear me, prince?”
“Yes, mama. I hear you. What is little sisters name?” The young prince squished his chubby cheek on his mothers shoulder, glancing his eyes down to the small baby girl that was wrapped in a green silk blanket. “Her name shall be said when you grow older and you have learned to protect with all your might.”
“Yes, Mama.”
The young prince moved his hand slowly to the newborn princess. “Why is she small, Mama?” He asked. His mother chuckled, “You do ask many questions, my little prince. You were once this small in my loving arms. I would cradle you with these arms, your father would teach you all sorts of knowledge..you do still have that study book, do you not?” Tilting his head, the small boy continued to keep his glance over at his little sister. Hearing cries and moving his small hand away from the baby. “Mama, why is she crying?”
“She is hungry, my dear.” The mother explained. “Meji, would you please fetch me a bottle of warm milk for my princess?” Meji, one of the servants had bowed and made her way outside of the room and unto the kitchen to make a bottle for the newborn. The prince had stood up, “I am going to go see Father, Mama.” he bowed to pay his respects to his mother and his new sister. “You may go. Father needs to give you something while you visit.”
“Of course. Thank you for the information, Mama.”
“You are welcome, small one. You may go.”
Stepping out of the room and unto the hallways of the territory he was going to rule if his parents had passed. The two year old stepped foot into his fathers office, sitting on his knees on the floor. Bowing a ‘hello’ to him. “Hello, my prince. How is your mother?” Looking up, “Mama is fine. I have become a big brother, Father.” The fathers eyebrows raised in curiosity and surprise. “Another child? Tell me, is it a princess or a prince? Baby girl or baby boy?”
“It is a princess, Father.” he noticed his son bow everytime he spoke, smiling on one side of his face. “Your mother has told you everything you have to do when you grow?” The young prince nodded, “Of course. Protect her with all of my might. Mama has said her name shall not be spoken until I have learned to protect her well.”
“That is one of the steps. Another one of the steps, is whenever the princess has gotten hurt, sick, or dying, you must help her.” He nodded and bowed to his father. “Of course, Father.”
“Have you been studying well, my son?”
“Yes, Father. My studies have been going on very well.” A knock was heard at the door as the two looked to the door. “You may enter.” The doors opened. In came servants and guards. Both the father and the young prince stood up and bowed at them. “What is the importance?” One of the guards stepped forwards, “The princess has almost lost life.” The prince stood confused, glancing up at his father. “What does that mean, Father?”
“It means she has been sent up above.”
“But Father, she could not have died! I need to protect her!”
“I know, son. But sometimes life does not come for some people. One of them is your little sister.”
“Father..”
