As soon as I land I feel nauseous. Like "heave up my whole entire stomach" nauseous. They said the effects of travel sickness won't last too long. I hope they're right. I take a few minutes to recover and take a drink of water. As I do, I look up into the sky to see the sun peak through the clouds, but only for a moment. It might start to rain soon. But none of that matters. I have a mission. Nothing can cause me to deviate from my purpose here. I will complete my mission, return to base, and then relish in all the glory of victory. My father may not be the best man, but he is my father. And a good one at that. Until they started trying to kill him in cold blooded murder without him ever doing anything to them. Yes he is in the war and was an important political figure, but he doesn't like it! All he ever wanted was to stop everything and have a normal life. He doesn't even agree with his own side. If they would have asked him to come with them he would have said yes. He would have forsaken his own country to fight for what he believed in. But he never is going to get that chance. No, they have to ruin it all. Kill an innocent man and leave his son all alone to fend for himself. And that's why I'm here now. I am going to fix what should never happen and save our lives. By the time I'm done, he will never die from their bullets; and those ruthless killing machines will be gone. I take out my communicator and test it to see if it works. In doing so I see my name badge. Lieutenant Nathaniel Imarit. Father would be proud. I look back to my com system. I send a message and soon enough an error code pops up. I guess the systems are down at base. I look down at my newly calibrated watch. 10:42 am. In just about ten minutes, the plane will land. Its my job to make sure that that never happens. I grab the gun slung over my shoulder and make sure it's loaded. After accepting the mission from Gen. Sygna, I made sure to do some research on the aircraft. I know exactly where to hit in order to make the plane malfunction and blow to pieces. Then my father will be safe. I start trekking over the land towards the small open meadow from where I will take my shot. It would be better if I forced them to crash in the forest so that they might be suspended up high in the trees. Then if they actually did survive the crash by some miraculous feat, I could just shoot them while they're suspended.I hear the sound of the airplane before I see it. I had just reached my spot in the meadow when I heard the faint hum of the machine. Now I just need to wait patiently for the plane to fly by. Suddenly it flies right above me and I have a clear shot. I cock my weapon and aim. I follow the plane across the sky and then on instinct, my finger pulls the trigger. The next thing happen simultaneously. Everything turns into a blur and then I'm running. Running for my life. The plane is falling. Making it's way towards the trees. Flipping end over end. The passengers seems to try to bail but the plane doesn't allow them to. The plane does a final flip before landing upside down in an outcropping of trees. I quickly run over to the plane. It hasn't exploded yet, but it's bound to any minute now. The side of the plane is shredded from the contact with the branches and is setting the trees on fire. I take a couple shots at the fuel tank to provoke the explosion. I look inside. There I see a set of eyes staring back at me. Not a man's eyes, but a woman's. She looks not much older than twenty three. For a moment a surge of panic runs through me. Did I hit the wrong plane? Am I killing innocent people? Then my eyes drift downward to her uniform. Srg. Amanda Turran. She's the one. She's definitely not innocent. Or, she is innocent now. But she's attempting to kill my father. Right at this moment, I would have no reason to kill her. But if I would have waited ten minutes, I would have all the reason in the world to put a bullet through her head. She turns her head away to look at the pilot who seemed to be knocked unconscious. He doesn't look like he was in the military, just a normal civilian. He isn't innocent. Anyone who helped in trying to murder my dad will die today. His name tag reads He-that's all I see because in a matter of three seconds, the plane turns into a massive fireball and I dive for cover. They are definitely dead now. My father is safe. He's safe. I'm safe. Safe.
