Lucas POV
"Welcome to the fraternity brother!!" wow the guys at this place are so welcoming.
"Thanks guys, you guys sure do know how to make me feel welcomed" and that wasn't a lie.
I didn't plan on joining a fraternity but I felt the need to do it. Like being a part of the whole college experience.
"Bro, I would help you out and get your stuff unloaded but we have to attend our monthly meting." Kyle said to me.
"Nah it's alright bro, thanks though" Kyle just nodded and went upstairs.
I was unloading some boxes when I saw a funny looking blond walking up to the U-Haul.
"Hey, you must be the new guy?"
" Uh yeah I guess that's me. The name is Lucas" I chuckled and shook my hand out to greet the girl. whose name I don't know.
" My name is Izzy. I live next door with a couple of more girls."
"oh cool" she smiles.
"anyways do you need help?"
"No it's cool I can do it on my own." I should've said yes. cause I know that it will take me hours to finish.
"No let me find you. Actually let me go grab my girl to help as well."
Izzy left jogging up her porch before I could reply. I start taking some of my boxes to my new room. When I come out I see the other girl.
"hey, thanks for the help. the guys are way too busy having a meeting and unloading all these boxes on my own would be a hassle. I'm Lucas by the way."
I give her my hand to extend but she stays frozen. Um okay?
"Uhhh yeah no problem. I'm Hazel I live next door."
we stare at each other for what seems forever. I could've sworn I've seen her before or heard of her name.
After that she had to leave for some reason and I surprisingly finished packing.
I quickly gathered my stuff and went to the graveyard.
In Memory of Austin Keys
As I read that line over and over again I feel my tears run down my cheeks.
Austin wasn't just someone I knew.
He was my brother.
