That all happened 27 years ago when I was 13. I'm now 40 and working for my mother at her law firm. Everyday I see people come through our doors. Murders, Rapist, Kidnappers. All hoping for one thing. To be found innocent. Most are proven innocent too! We have a highly respected firm, and I wouldn't ever want to ruin that reputation. That's mainly why when I started working there when I was 16 I'd never be able to tell the secret of the Man in the Mask. It would sound something like this:
News: Crazy attorney who's heard so many crazy things thinks he's seen a masked murderer!
For a highly respected firm that would really bring all my moms dreams down as well as mine. I hope to one day become the owner of the firm and take charge. I already have plans since my mom is about to retire. She is planning to take the retirement in about 2-4 years. I tell her I want her to stay. But secretly I want her to leave, I love being the boss, and making things my own way. Not that I have anything against her.At least once a day I see some really crazy. Someone who can really mess with your brain. They manipulate you and all sorts of stuff, wanting you to believe they are innocent when they clearly aren't. We call these people The Wicked. All through my years of working I really forgot about the Man in the Mask, but today it changed.
A man came through wearing baggy clothing. He looked to be about in his mid 20's. He had a slight cringe on his face, which made him look like a psychopath. He was wearing a baseball hat with it flipped backwards. Immediately I knew he would be a Wicked. I decided just to get him over with so I moved him to the next available slot. I escorted him to my office where I let him sit down. I walked around to my desk and began interviewing him.
"So may I please have your name?"
"Sure I guess bro, it's Taiwan."
He sounded like he had never learned a single proper use of grammar in his life. When I have people like this it annoys me quite a lot. Next I asked him what he did, and he responded with "Bro I killed someone! Shouldn't you know that you are the law person in all.". Right there he confessed. Worst thing is he was laughing.
We talked for about 15 minutes until I had, had enough. I slammed my fist into the desk yelling "People like you really make my job miserable, you don't know what people have had to do to get here. And all you do is disrespect them! Your mother should be disappointed.". He responded with "I didn't have no mother." "She was murdered about 27-28 years ago."
I sat drop dead. Hoping I had heard wrong.
Was it her? The person I had seen. Was it his mom? Boy I hope not.
