Chapter 4: Denji full time butler, part time devil hunter

Rem was with Denji keeping a close eye on him and questioning what exactly Denji is the scent of the witch was on him but what was more prevalent was the smell of a devil and a powerful one at that all Rem could think about while teaching Denji how to do his chores was 'what is he'

Denji: "Man this is a great change of pace from being a devil hunter for the mob."

Rem: "You worked for the mafia?"

Denji: "Only because my dad killed himself and left me with his debt. Did you use to be a devil hunter too?"

Rem: "No, but née-sama used to be a full time devil hunter like our older brother Aki was a great warrior.... Before he died 13 years ago when the devils first entered the world."

Denji: "13 years ago?"

Rem goes silent as she remembers her older brother who she and her sister greatly admired and remembers his last words to her and Ram 'live...'

Denji: "I never had any family besides my dad who hung himself."

Rem: "Rem is sorry for your loss..."

Rem's suspicions of Denji briefly fall away as all she can see is a boy who lost everything like her and Ram

Denji: "So what kind of guy is Roswaal.  I mean the makeup of his is weird and he's my boss so I wanna know a bit more about him."

Rem is slightly suspicious of Denji's question but chooses to answer as best she can

Rem: "Roswaal-sama is the most powerful mage in Lugunica and comes from a long line of mages himself."

Denji: "But why the makeup?"

Rem paused for a moment realizing that she herself doesn't know why her master wears that clown makeup

Rem: "Rem does not know herself...  Née-sama probably knows why though."

???: "Cyclops!"

Denji and Rem turn around to see Ram dressed in a black suit with a long coat on carrying what appears to be a sword on her back

Ram: "Sister it is time for me and Cyclops to go hunting a wild fiend is causing trouble in the village."

Denji: "Who's Cyclops?"

Ram immediately points at Denji

Ram: "You, idiot.  Now come that wild fiend posses a possible threat to the village."

Denji: "How come you didn't go get Power?"

Ram: "Power is on break."

Briefly cut to Power, napping inside a laundry basket so nobody can find her however her clever hiding spot is given away by her loud snoring

Ram: "Now let's hurry before the fiend gets cocky and tries it's luck with the mansion."

Denji: "Well I guess duty calls!  Can I see you after I kill the fiend?"

Rem: "If Denji-kun behaves himself then Rem will come by his room to help teach him to read and write."

Denji: "Bitchen!"

Ram then grabs Denji by the collar of his butler uniform and starts pulling him like he's a dog

Ram: "You don't deserve Rem she's too good for you."

Denji: "What you say!?"

Later in the village Denji and Ram are walking to the house where the wild fiend is holding up

Denji: "So what's with the doll body and disembodied head?"

Ram: "That is a story I like to call noneya."
