Russia's Prov--
"It's your turn, brother."
"But -"
"No buts, you can walk around outside like the rest of us."
". . .That's one way of putting it."
As I grab my boots and slide them on, Bel keeps on talking to me. Saying how I'm the laziest out of all of us and that I need to 'man up.' As if, I do most of the work around here.
"Hey, stop stalling and go patrol!"
"Bel, let go of me. You can't drag me outside, I'm too heavy."
"Then goooo!"
As I walk out the door, the cold air hits my face. Ahh, I love that feeling. When you were in a warm house most of the day and then you stepped outside.
All the cold air hits every crevice of your face, arms, legs, and more. Even if you're wearing heavy, warm clothes. It still gets in, and I love it.
As I walk around the 'house,' I ckeck every corner for people to be hiding. Although, no one is dumb enough to come to THIS side of the country.
But the more I look, the more I get bored. As if something interesting was going to happen. But nothing ever happens when we're not fighting.
As hours go by, I head to the woods. Again, checking every inch of the place in case something was there. I mean, the buetiful landscape was something to enjoy.
Animals would cross my path every now and again. Deer, rabbits, a mouse, birds, squirrels. Leaves fall on top of the ground. Most people would love this if there wasn't paranoia crawling on your back, every second, every step you take every breath you make, even the slightest of noises scaring the shit out of you. It would give some people heart attacks, to be honest.
As the sun started to set, I went back. Back to the place I call home. But it's not a house. It's more like a forters. To keep people in, but no one can come in. A place that you can see from miles and wish you could just see the inside. A place that was HIS.
For years, I've lived here. 17 years ago was the first time I saw this place. It was where I was raised. But I only ever had my father. I could never remember my real mother.
But I don't want to. She left me with my father, so I'm going to stay with my father. Even if we don't have the same opinions. Even if we fought. I still love him.
That goes for all my siblings. I love all my siblings, even if there is no blood in between us. But that's what makes us closer. Not that we aren't full sister or brother, but that we can connect in a different way.
On the way back, I see the woods start to change to the plainy, Siberian landscape. The trees start to disappear. The air temperature starts to drop. You would think that being in the woods would be colder, but no. It just gets worse when you're outside that area.
The more I think about it. Wherever dad goes, the wind fellow's. But it's like that with Antarctica. But it still doesn't make sense. For the wind to fallow countries. It's odd, that's for sure.
As the house closes the gap between me and my thoughts, something arises my interest. Something out of place.
By the house is a barn like structure that stores the animals. But when I look in there, all the guards are gone. The only reason there are guards is because one of my siblings has a prized pet in there that can not be inside.
This is abnormal. It's not dinner for the guards yet. Eh-its fine. I need to get inside anyway before she has a heart attack, thinking I'm lost.
As I step on one of the many steps, it makes a creaking noise. As if it was as old as my grandfather, which it probably was.
Each step I take makes a new noise. Each noise was a creak, but each was different. It was a southing sound, to be honest. Each new creak was a creak that would never be here again.
The front door was in my face when I opened my eyes. Why does this always happen. I find something relaxing, but then it stops. I also forgot my phone, so I had no idea what time it was. But I guess it's late because the sun is already down and the moon is in its place.
Before I opened the door. My hand levitating above the handle. I here voices coming for inside. I knew these voices. For it was my families.
"I'm sure he's just taking a detore. He's never gotten lost before. So he'll come back."
"How do you know!? For all I know, he could be lost out there!"
"He's only ever gotten lost ONCE. He was a young child at that time, though."
"Dads right. He knows this place like the back of his hand. He'll come back sone."
"Mabey, he's walking around a little more. You know how much he likes the wood landscape. Not to cold but not too hot."
" You're right, I shouldn't freak out. I bet he's coming up the steps know."
As I slowly put my hand on the door handle, I started to turn it. When I opened the door, I felt a giant blur come strate at me. Slamming their body to mine. The warm air did the same. For it hit me almost as bad as the thing that strong itself to me. As if I was there long lost child. Waiting for them to come back home.
But when I felt where their body hit mine, I knew who it was.
"Mom, can you let go. I need to take my coat off."
But it was no use. She prid of me, grabbed my face, made me lean down by pulling my head down, and started to kiss my face all over.
"Mom, please. I need to come fully in and take my coat off."
"FiNe, be that way. You don't want your moma's kisses. You don't get any."
"I didn't mean it that way. I just would like to come inside and eat."
"OH-Yes. I forgot that you haven't eaten. We already ate so you can take the food in the living room."
She released my face and went deeper into the house. Probably to tell everyone I'm home. As I laid my coat in its place, I took off my boots. Which I must say were covered in snow. I take my ushanka, which was also covered in snow, off and place it right next to dad's.
As I walk further in, I make a sharp left turn to the kitchen. Where one plate was still sitting on the dining table. I walk up to it, grab it, and make my way to the living room.
As I entered, everyone was already there, talking up a storm. When I entered, Kas made a huffing sound.
"About time you showed up. You missed dinner with us!" Kas sounded mad but was just playing, like always.
"Sorry, I was just doing my job and patrolling the area."
