3rd Person POV
they helped pope move out from under the cross as fast as they could. he fell into canyon and she held him closely
"Yeah, I'm good. Just give me, like, one second to, like, catch my breath" pope exclaimed and canyon nodded in understanding
"You did it, Pope. Ah. Pope, she's... she's beautiful." john b said and canyon nodded before she looked down at pope and saw that his breathing was now slowing and she didn't like the sight of it.
"hey guys pope needs a doctor like now" canyon said and they all nodded in agreement. they hid the cross and they ran to the twinkie. canyon started the car and she drove to her house. she ran to the door as they led pope and she opened the door
"MOM, MOM I NEED YOUR HELP" canyon called out to them and molly ran over to the girl. she looked at pope and ran to get her bag. she came back as they laid pope on the table and she looked at anyone
"I'm going to help him sweetheart, I promise" she said to the girl and she grabbed her doctor bag as she ran over to pope. she held a needle and she looked at pope and then canyon
"this is epinephrine , this is going to help him but when he wakes up, he will have a rocket in his ass so be prepared for that" she told them and she put the needle in his arm
"he needs to be okay" canyon said and she stared at her boyfriend before she heard him take a deep inhale and she smiled at him
"its hot, I'm like real hot guys" pope said , he got up and he ran outside and then began to cheer.
"thanks mama, I will be back home later" she said and molly nodded as she kissed the girls forehead and let them leave the house. they got in the truck and began to drive back to the church , canyon sat in the back seat with her headphones as she stared out of the window and at the sky. she didn't know what to think anymore, jj was right. they had almost lost each other one too many times and she hated that.
"cowgirl are you okay?" jj asked her and she looked at the boy and removed her headphones. he stared at her and she nodded.
"yeah I will be" she told him and she leaned her head on his shoulder as he leaned his head on her and she put one headphone in her ear and the other in jjs. they softly hummed to the song until they got to the church and they climbed out with the others.
they walked in and it was gone, the cross was gone and canyon shared a look with pope as his eyes glazed over and she sighed.
"we need a plan, we need a plan, whats the plan?" jj said and then he began to rant to them but canyon didn't listen, she stared at pope with sad eyes.
"denmark was stood right here, preaching to everyone he set free, slave, the soul survive of the royal merchant, he got the gold and the cross and he brought them both to shore and he he uses them to free every person who walked through those doors. he made a church, a family, a congregation , a home and the limbreys took everything from him. they sicced dogs on hi wife and his kids and when he tried to go get her remains, they hung him. well, im done. im tired of that shit. that is not how this is gonna end. we need a frickin win guys. im going to get my families cross. you guys coming?" pope asked and he grabbed canyons hand as they left the church. they got in kiaras car and they went to drive back into town but they were stopped.
"canyon, kiara, im taking yall home" shoupe said and he got them out of the car.
"I told my mom I would be home later, I can get there on my own thanks though" canyon said and she walked away from shoupe and she went home. she opened the door as she took a deep sigh and molly ran forward to the girl
she hugged her and canyon sighed.
"honey you can let it out" molly said and canyon broke down into her shoulder. she sobbed
"I thought he was dead, I couldn't do anything. i almost lost him mom, I almost lost all of them" she stated into the women shoulder and molly nodded. she knew that canyon was having a hard time and she just wanted to be there for the girl who was going through more then any teen at her age should.
she walked up to her room as she fell on the bed and stared at the ceiling. she didn't know what to feel or what to think anymore. it was all too much for the girl and she hated it. she hated feeling this way, she hated that her brain wouldn't shut off and she hated that even though she tried to make it stop, it wouldn't. not for a second because that was canyon. her mind was on as much as her body and it wouldn't stop for a second because she wouldn't stop for a second. she wouldn't let herself breathe, she wouldn't let herself think
and yet here she was. now in a crammed space with the pogues on a boat trying to get the gold and find their way around but what was going to happen?
where would the true canyon go?

I've been kicking my own butt to write so thank the lord that I am even if it is 8:42 at night and season 3 comes out tomorrow
