Abigail Bodner's P.O.V
-------------
I sat side by side with my sister, Lilianne. She was seventeen, three years older than me. My sister and I had always been close, we did everything together. Except Lilianne preferred art. She took painting classes and kept paints hidden under the floorboards of her room. I was the gatherer, I loved running around, collecting the flowers and mashing them into paint for her to use. "Are you nervous?" Lily asked suddenly.

"A little. I've survived the reaping before, though. Why are you asking this now?" I replied calmly. Freaking out wasn't going to help me if I did get picked. Lily shrugged.

"Eh, I don't know. We have to leave soon." I silently cursed myself for having forgotten. I sprinted into the bedroom, grabbing my nice clothes, a white, strapless dress. I threw on the matching shoes and raced to my bathroom, running a brush through my light brown hair. That's another thing Lily and I had in common, we both had our mother's bright blue eyes and light brown hair.

I walked back out to go to the Reapings. "Ready?" Lily asked, and I nodded. We walked to the Reapings. Even though District One is the richest district, hardly anyone can afford a car. Not that I would want one, they're big and smelly. I got my finger pricked quickly for the blood test before making my way into the fourteen year old section. I spotted Lily in the seventeen year old section. She gave me a small nod and I turn back to the stage.

Our escort, Sama Gun, walked onto stage. She wore a ridiculous black netted dress that was practically see-through. I frowned in disgust. "Hello!" She squeaked, clicking her black, snakeskin heels together. "It is an honor to be picking the tributes for district one this year, as it is the 200th annual hunger games! Let's start with the girls today!" Of course she picked the girls, it's usually more dramatic. And if there's once thing we know about the capital, it's that they love drama.

"First up, Ria-" Began Sama, but she was interrupted by the common volunteer.
"I volunteer as tribute!" I saw a pretty girl with golden blonde hair stride from the fifteen year old section onto the stage.
"What a lovely girl!" Exclaimed Sama, handing her a microphone. "What is your name and age?"
"My name is Calienette Noyes, and I am fifteen years old." Replied the girl proudly, handing the microphone back to Sama and sitting in one of the six chairs on the back of the stage.
"Next up, Amilia-" again, Sama was cut off by a career.
"I volunteer as tribute." Said a calm voice and I saw a girl emerge from the eighteen year old section. She had black hair that falls down her back and icy grey eyes. Something about her seemed deadly and scary, and I shuddered inside. She wouldn't be someone I would want to fight. Sama passed her a microphone.
"Please, tell us your name and age."
"My name is Azina Javier, and I am eighteen." Said the girl smoothly. She shot us a cruel, and scary death glare, chilling me to the bone. I took a deep breath. Only one more girl, what were the odds of it being me? Besides, even if I was chosen, someone would volunteer.
"Last but not least, Abigail-" Sama stopped, expecting a volunteer. Instead, there was silence. "Abigail Bodner." It took me several moments to realize that she was calling my name. My eyes widened as I willed myself to step out of the crowd. I slowly walked towards the stage, but then I heard a scream.
"No! Abigail!" Lily sprinted out of the crowd, blocking me from the stage.
"Lily." I muttered. "You need to go."
"No!" Lily shrieked. "You're my sister, I volunteer! I volunteer as tribute!"
"No, Lily!" I sobbed, but I was dragged away by a peacekeeper. My sister was gone. She had to win.
"And who might you be, my dear?" Asked Sama, as though nothing had just gone on. I cried into my shirt.
"My name is Lilianne Bodner, and I am seventeen years old." Lily spoke clearly, unafraid. How, I do not know.
"Was that your sister?" Pressed Sama, and Lily mumbled weakly,
"Yes."
Sama stopped pestering her and continued. "Now, for the boys. First up- Johny-"
"I volunteer!" A tall boy emerged from the crowd. He had messy blonde hair and bright blue eyes. The boy made his way to the stage and was handed a microphone.
"What is your name, and how old are you?" Asked Sama.
"My name is Titus Otten, I am eighteen years old, and I will win!" The boy declared proudly, receiving cheers from the audience.
"Alrighty, then." Said Sama, taking the microphone back as Titus sat next to Lily. "Next up, Bob-"
"I VOLUNTEER!" Shrieked an extremely loud voice. A boy with short black hair and dark brown eyes ran to the stage, excitedly jumping up and down.
"Someone's excited." Laughed Sama. "What is your name and age?" She handed him the microphone.
"I'm Norman Guarini, and I am sixteen!" He shouted, handing the microphone back and sitting back down.
"And our last tribute, Michael Robin-"
"I volunteer." Said a calm voice and a boy with blonde hair and brown eyes walked up to the stage. Before Sama could ask him, he stated his name was Silas Redfort and he was seventeen.
"Well." Began Sama. "Here are our six tributes: Calienette Noyes, Azina Javier, Lilianne Bodner, Titus Otten, Norman Guarini, and Silas Redfort. Give it up for district One!"
