The leaves rustled as birds flew in a disarrayed state, aware of the change in the environment. They soon formed V shapes in the sky as they flew trying to find a safer place to rest.

"Wew," a young girl sighed as she landed on the soft grassy soil, a knee down on the ground. A soft thud sounded as a thick book landed beside her. Slowly she stood up and patted her clothes free of the dirt. Behind her, a rip in the dimensional space closed up, sucking in the air that it compressed around it.

"That wasn't bad for a first try." She smiled while raising her chest. A while ago, she stole a grimoire from the library and used the instructions in the thick book to manipulate the portal and send her here.

"They're all blabbering about my lack of talent in using magicka. I bet they never thought that I'd be able to use a portal." She then looked down at the grimoire by her feet. It was black and old. The pages were turning brown, some of the words written were smeared and illegible. It took her some time to understand some of the runes written inside to activate the portal, but it was successful in the end.

"I wonder what would have happened if things went wrong." The thought made her tremble. She then picked up the thick and heavy book and hugged it to her chest. "Now, time to have some fun." She laughed out loud, trying to copy the laughter of the evil lady she saw in the late night show last night.

"What the..." the young boy whispered. He was hunting for small animals to roast for lunch when he heard a weird sound nearby. The birds resting on the trees suddenly scattered and flew off. He cautiously then ran towards the source of the unrest and found a small girl jumping of something weird. Whatever that was where the girl came from, it closed up and disappeared, as if it was all just part of the boy's imagination.

"Could she be..." he observed her from behind the trees, her silver hair swaying as she walked around seemingly unsure of what to do, "...a demon?" He then saw her face. She was cute. Extremely cute. And it looked like she was the same age as him. He felt his face heat up. Quickly, he turned away and sat on the soft soil.

"She must be a demon! There's no way a human can have a face as pretty as that!"

"You're the demon, calling such a cute and beautiful young girl like me a demon," a voice said beside him. He quickly turned and saw the girl there, standing with a foot on a tree root. A thick book was held around her left arm, and she brushed her hair sideways with her other hand.

"S-s-s-stay away from me, demon!" the boy scampered quickly. He tried to knock an arrow to his bow but fumbled. The arrow slipped from his fingers, spun in midair and landed a few feet away from him.

"..."

"Forgive me! Don't eat me! Please, let me go!" He bowed down while he was on his knees, hitting his head on the soft soil. He trembled, tears slowly welling up in his eyes. Soft crumpling sounds could be heard. She's coming... she's coming... I don't want to die!

"Pft..."

"..."

"Aahahahahaha!" The girl laughed out loud, holding her stomach. "You seriously believe that I'm a demon? No, no. You actually believe in demons? Ahahha. Oh, you're too much. Ahahahahaha!"

The boy looked up at her. His face was covered with dirt, tears, and snot. Laughing some more because of the sight, the girl fell down on her back and rolled on the ground.

"You are a demon." The boy wiped his face with a clean cloth he took from his pocket.

"Sorry, sorry," the girl apologized as she sat up. "It's just, you're unbelievable." She covered her mouth, and chuckled. Somehow, that movement made the boy stare at her in awe. She was really pretty. His face reddened as he imagined how he appeared to the girl when his face was covered in all sorts of stuffs. I'm embarassing,  and he took a deep sigh.

"So, what brings a pretty young girl with a peculiar hair color to this inhabited forest, wandering about as if taking a stroll?" the boy asked as he slowly stood up.

"Acting so tough, now?" the girl teased. "And my hair color is not peculiar. This is the color of nobility."

"A noble, eh? Then shall I call you princess?" He bowed while extending his right arm outwards then swinging in across his chest.

"Hmm. That sounds good. From now on, thou shall call me princess, pitiful servant."

"What?!? Who's a pitiful servant?"

"Is it not obvious? It's you."

"Why, you!" He walked quickly towards her and was about to push her when a huge explosion rang. The shockwave from the explosion caused him to lost his balance, and so he fell forwards and accidentally pushed her down.

"Stay away from me, you low-life pervert!"

"What? I just suddenly downgraded to a pervert! Wait! That's not the issue!" The two looked up. Smoke and wreckage stained the blue sky.

"This is..." the girl's voice lost the previous confidence.

"...war."

"We need to get out of here." The boy stood up and picked up the arrow on the ground. More explosions rang.

"I need to return now..." The girl flipped the pages of the grimoire and read the runes for ther return portal. A rip formed in the space in front of her, and the air around it compressed.

"Wait!" he shouted as she was about to enter the portal. "What's your name?"

"Ayna."

"Ayna... I'm Olu. Let's meet again sometime."

"Sure." They both smiled at each other. A bigger explosion seemed to signal them that their time's up. Ayna jumped into the portal.

"Ayna..." Olu muttered her name. He smiled, then turned around and ran deep into the forest.
