The sky was stormy and the rivers were raging wildly, as if waiting for something...waiting for the beginning of the end, the moment the queen of hell opened her eyes again after so long. She was confused, but still immediately went on the defensive.
Katherine stood up, her head throbbing wildly, then she felt a sweet, bitter breeze and realized: the smell was coming from the veins of people on the street, and she was a vampire again. Immediately and without even realizing it, she rushed towards them and one by one drained them of their blood almost completely, then forced them to forget her and made sure no one saw her. She was in Mystic Falls, specifically very close to her stupid doppelgänger's house, which had apparently been rebuilt. She didn't knew what had happened, but it was enough time to find out...she was back again.
As if through the abyss, her eyes reflected in a puddle on the side of the road, she was not in her body. Now she had red hair and green eyes, nothing like her previous self. She was a little older than how she was when she was turned, but not too much, and, in fact, she was still five hundred years old. She had freckles all over her face and arms, but the manipulative grin was the same.
The air around her suddenly changed, it was strange, nothing like Katherine had ever experienced before. She looked intensely at a lantern, the light seemed to captivate her, she couldn't take her eyes off it...until it exploded, in a burst of light as red as the axfinite, as her soul, and as hell itself. To another completely inexperienced eye, it might look like an accident, but she knew right away that it wasn't…she'd felt an attraction, an spark...Katherine had done it, Katherine had made it explode, she knew that immediately. What was she? She was a vampire, yes, but there was something else...however, she couldn't pick this mystery out in the middle of the street, she would have to wait until she got home to the one person who might have some idea of what was going on, and who might also to help her with her apparent magic.
The 500 year old vampire knew what she had to do, she was going to take revenge, but she needed a plan, she couldn't attack so directly anymore, she had learned from the past, she had to sneak inside, torture them little by little, the fact that everyone thought her dead was her fiercest weapon...and now she's going to make sure it all ends with Damon and Elena at her feet. It was, in fact, still her game.
"Game on.", as she told Caroline in a hospital bed all those years ago...and "Game on." was a threat, but also a promise, a promise that has never ended, it was still her game, and the revenge will come. She was going to get her revenge and she was going to survive. A middle-aged woman walked past her, and Katherine stopped her, using her compulsion:"You will let me use your phone. Do not listen to the conversation."
"I'll let you use my phone." the woman smiled and handed it to her.
Katherine punched in a number, waited a moment, then said:
"Hey, did you miss me?"
"Who is that?" a confused voice came from the other end of the phone.
"Seriously, don't tell me you've already forgotten me since I burned in hellfire for Stefan."
"Kath?"
"The one and only." Katherine grinned. "I'm in Mystic Falls, near the park, a redhead with green eyes, it seems I've ended up in another body, I have no idea how. Come and pick me up. Now"
"Watch how you speak. I'm coming, you're lucky I missed you."
Katherine grinned again, there was a special place in her heart for the witch on the other end of the phone. She had more potential than anyone could imagine, and Katherine had been able to talk to her since she created another 'prison' world for her lover.
"Thanks, Bon Bon."
