Part Five
The last twenty-four hours have felt like a far-fetched dream. I've been whisked away from my apartment and put up in a very expensive luxurious hotel. I've met Sophie Martin who is just as sweet as she is on TV, she's offered to be my guide on this adventure, her word not mine. I've been responding to texts from friends who are congratulating me on the prize of a lifetime.
It certainly feels like it.
I thought champagne tasted nice before, the expensive bottle left in my suite is divine. I've already taken advantage of the huge bathtub, soaking myself for the last hour while I sip on the expensive champagne.
I'm taking advantage of everything because it all feels like the carpet beneath my feet will be ripped out any second now. I've been fortunate enough to not have met any of the Hart family yet. Despite my brain trying to catch up with all this luxury in front of me, I don't think it's really sunken in that I'm expected to marry someone to receive all this.
"Kelly?" the sweet chime of Sophie's voice filters outside the bathroom.
I snap my gaze open to find majority of the bubbles have disappeared, my naked body on full display in the water. "I'm soaking." I call but it's too late.
Sophie steps into the room, mum in tow behind her. Mum's been having a field day spending time with Sophie. I've already told her several times to leave the poor girl alone, but mum continues to shoo me away. "Um, hello? Naked here." I mutter, pulling my feet up to my chest to at least cover some parts of myself.
Sophie happens to look everywhere but me unlike mum. Sure, she's seen me naked but that doesn't mean she can invade my privacy. "Baby, we're going dress shopping." Mum tells me, the happiest look on her face. The look has been a permanent fixture ever since the news came of my winning division one.
"That's good because I could really do with some clothes right now." I mutter, pointing to the robe laying on the counter.
Mum mutters under her breath, reaching for the robe. Sophie turns her back immediately. "Tell her the best part, Sophie."
"The shops come to us here." Sophie says as I stand up, wrapping the soft fluffy robe around my body. I grab the towel hanging up and dry several parts of my body even though I'm covered up.
"The shops come to us here?" I question.
Mum grins, a bounce to her step. "A designer is coming to measure you and make a dress for you."
My eyes bulge. "Make a dress for me?" She's joking right? I've never been measured in my entire life, let alone had someone else make a dress just for me. Does this happen all the time here? Here in fantasy land, I mean.
Sophie smiles, nodding as she steps up beside mum. She is well done up, a knee length light blue dress conforming to her nice figure. If anything, she looks a little tightened up.
"You need the perfect dress for tonight."
Mum pulls me out of the bathroom and Sophie follows behind. "What's tonight?" I ask. I was told a list of events happening over the next day or two but honestly everything happened in such a blur I can barely remember what I was told.
"You're meeting your husband." Mum answers.
I glance at Sophie who confirms with a small nod. "He's not my husband." I mutter, walking over to the small suitcase I was allowed to pack before being whisked away from my home.
"Not yet." Mum sits herself on the bed, sighing happily. She drifts off into thought.
I look over at Sophie. "This feels crazy, right? You felt this?" I ask her.
