The Flashback Story [Shu x reader]

Chapter 2

YN was walking in the corridor during recess when someone called her. "YN!" A short figure appeared behind her. "Oh. Akemi. You needed something?"

"Yeah, I had to tell you something. Cap' said he can't meet you today. So, he'll see you tomorrow at four."

"What! He's postponing his meeting with me? Does he even know who I am?"

"Well, probably."

"Oh, shut it. Who the hell does he think he is?"

"Well, he is-"

"Leave it. I don't want to know." YN turned her head, "You're going to give me the address."

"Yeah, sure."

"And remind him that he has an appointment tomorrow. Tell him not to cancel or postpone it anymore." YN said and left. Akemi sighed.

At Beigoma Academy, Valt was standing alone on the rooftop near a bey stadium. A tall albino walked in.

"Oh, hey, Shu! You wanted to talk to me?"

"Yeah. What's this I hear about you being too disturbed because of a match you lost lately?"

"Oh, that. I was just being silly. By the way, Toko and Nika told me about your question last night. And I couldn't sleep at all. I was just thinking about the question."

"That's not good. You should sleep well or else you wouldn't be able to focus."

"I wasn't able to concentrate on anything, anyways. I was too excited to tell you the answer."

"So, what's your answer?"

"Valkyrie is doing great. Actually, better than ever."

"That's great."

"Ah, Shu, can I ask you for a favor?"

"What is it?"

"Will you battle me? Please."

"Y'know, I'm a bit busy."

"Please please please!"

"But this time, I will do it."

"Yay, thank you!"

"But only 1 match. Alright?"

"Okay!"

3... 2... 1... Let it rip!

Both the beys launched into the stadium. Spriggan took up the centre. Valkyrie was rotating around it.

"Valkyrie!" The brunette shouted. "Rush shoot!"

The bey started hitting the stadium surroundings and speed up. It went towards Spriggan and the other blader said, "Now, Spriggan!" And it bursted Valkyrie.

"Woah, Shu, that was amazing!"

Shu picked up his bey. While picking his bey, Valt said, "One more match! Please!"

"I promised only one match."

"Ahh." Valt said with a sad face. The tall young man left him alone at the rooftop. A few minutes later, three other males appeared in the rooftop.

"Hey, Valt, Shu was going downstairs while we were coming here upstairs. Did he come here?" The one with yellow hair asked.

"Oh, yeah, he did."

"Why?"

"To talk to me. And you know, he battled me!"

"What! He battled you! Man, that's cheating. You didn't even tell us he was coming."

"Even I didn't know he would agree to battle me!"

"Ok, fine. I forgive you this time."

The other two sweat-dropped. "They won't change." The black-haired male said and the other one agreed.

After lunch, at YN's house, she sat in the sitting area again waiting for her brother to come. The moment he came in, he asked, "Did you meet the captain today?"

"No, not yet."

"Are you going to meet him later today?"

"Tomorrow."

"But you said the meeting would take place today. Why did you postpone it?"

"I didn't. He did."

"He did? What! Does he even know who you are?"

"Maybe not till we meet."

"Huh? YN, please remember. You are not only a top blader of the country but also the daughter of a top businessman in the country. You must have some dignity and pride. No one should be able to reject you. You are the one to reject, not the one to get rejected."

"Relax, bro. He hasn't rejected me yet. He's just postponed our meeting. That too because of some important business."

"He hasn't rejected you yet. And he shouldn't even have the courage to do it in the future. Moreover, what can be more important than this?"

"Maybe family matters. And bro, don't worry. He wouldn't have the courage to reject me unless he is Lui Shirosagi which he definitely isn't."

"Whatever. Just be careful. And remember, you always have to be at the top. No one should be higher than you. No one should be able to order you around."

"Yeah, bro, of course I will be at the top always."

And the tall young man left. 'I know,bro, I know you were indirectly taunting me about losing to Lui last year' she thought.

'I'm not being ordered around.' She thought. 'It's just one meeting that has been cancelled. I'll prove him wrong. I'll not join any team he suggests. I'm going to join this team. And I am damn sure about it.'
