Chapter 1, "The North's".
0:00:00-0:09:14Hailey Marshall has lived next to the North's for as long as she can remember. Helen and her mom Audrey had been friends for years, all the way back to their High School days.
Hailey's mom and Helen knew immediately when they were young that they'd have correlated births hoping to create a lifelong bond just like they had when they were younger.
So, when the two learned of their success, they celebrated. Nine months later, Hailey and Phoebe were born. The two, like their mothers, became best friends.
17 years later, here Hailey was, amongst the chaos that is the North family. Hated by most of their neighbors, charismatic to the t, and mischievous itself.
Hailey was walking to the side of the North's house, waving to Marisa and Bina's beaming faces. The two girls ran up and hugged the older girl, "Hi, Hailey!"
The girl in question smiled, "Hi, Marissa and Bina! How are my two favorite twins doing?"
The two smiled, and Marissa spoke for the two of them, "We're doing good! Come look at our flowers, aren't they pretty?"
The curly-haired girl smiled and over-exaggerated her gasp, "They're gorgeous! They're about the most beautiful flowers I've ever seen!"
The two girls giggled before they continued to water their plants, leaving Hailey to turn around at the sound of squealing. That could only mean that Mick's pig was running loose again.
"Hi, Mick," Hailey called with a knowing smile, not bothering to face him. Mick groaned before he shouted back while he was still chasing his pig, "How'd you know it was me?!"
Hailey laughed, "There's only one pig lover that I know, and that's you. Plus the random assortment of loose animals gives it away. Hi, Jimi."
"What up, Hail," Jimi called from behind Mick, also chasing all the North's pets that have run wild. The two ran while Hailey walked up to her friend Phoebe.
"Hey, Pheebs," Hailey greeted her friend with a chirpy smile to which Phoebe smiled and let her guitar rest on her hip before hugging Hailey.
"Hey! What are you doing here so early? I thought we were hanging out later. You know how my family is."
Hailey waved off her friend's concern, "You know I don't mind! Plus, I have some news!"
Phoebe grew intrigued, she wasn't the only one as her brother Dylan stopped his spray painting and moved to wrap his arm around Hailey, "Hey, Hails. What's the news?"
Phoebe rolled her eyes at her brother's antics, "Go away, perv! This is business between me and my best friend, thank you very much."
Dylan rolled his eyes before slowly retracting his arm from Hailey's shoulders, winking toward the girl, "Tell me later, yeah?"
Hailey rolled her eyes and Phoebe shoved her brother away before dragging Hailey away. "So what's the news?"
Hailey smiled brightly, "There are new people that moved in! And get this, since I'm a part of the welcoming committee, the Principal thought it was best I guide the new students! Isn't that cool?"
