this is a concept where russia & america are getting interviewed about each other in separate rooms, with the same questions.
What's your name?
AMERICA: Uh, the United States of America, but most people call me 'America' or 'Ame' or like, 'Shut Up' or whatever. So you know. Whatever you feel like. Go with your heart.
RUSSIA: ...Russia.
Tell me a little about yourself.
AMERICA: Oooh, okay. Ummm... I like guns and Smarties. And parades. And sunglasses, haha. Also money! For fun I enjoy, uh, long walks on the beach and going to war. Yeah. I think that's it.
RUSSIA: Ehm. I don't do much. I write philosophy.
Now would you tell me a bit about each other?
AMERICA: YOU KNOW RUSSIA?! Russia is great!! He's so funny. He has this disgusted face that he makes all the time at everything. Sometimes I'm pretty sure it's actually just the way he looks, but you know, it's kind of a toss-up. Umm, he has like four of the same hat. Not sure why. He loves the winter and he likes to read, uhh— he likes really weird music. Like truly awful.
RUSSIA: Powers almighty. Why are you asking about him? What is this? Agh. He is.... loud? He has no respect for personal space.
How long have you been dating?
AMERICA: Two months by next week!
RUSSIA: Dating? Dating is a strong word, I don't... Have— has he been here? Did you talk to him?
What do you like to do together?
AMERICA: Oh, you know. Normal stuff, like, we go to parties. Usually we can't decide on a restaurant and we have to make food at home and fight over counter space but sometimes it works out and we go for like, Italian or something. OOOH, we went to karaoke night one time... I don't think he ever got a turn at the mic though. Which was sad.
RUSSIA: He is always dragging me to the most insufferable f**king places. Like— karaoke night?! What hell is that? Who has ever heard of that? He let me think 'karaoke' was a kind of posh sushi. And we pulled into the place, and there are a whole lot of degenerates standing around singing. And America runs up there like a five-year-old child and starts in on the chorus of something by David Bowie. Holy cross. We stayed there for four hours.
Do you two ever fight?
AMERICA: Aww, no. Not really. I mean, like, the occasional squabble, maybe—
RUSSIA: Every single day. Listen, I do not know if you asked Ame this question because he will say 'no, hardly ever, everything is peaches and rainbows' but that is a blasphemous lie. Don't listen to him. In fact— ask him about the Cuban missile crisis. Even he should be able to remember that.
What do you have in common?
AMERICA: Oh, tons of stuff! Like our flag colors. And how we think the same countries are kind of annoying. Yeah.
RUSSIA: Very, very little.
What do you like about each other?
AMERICA: He's really nice. He never wants people to think he is but he is. He'd be mad at me for telling you that. But truth always comes to light, you know? HEY, that was actually pretty good. Did I come up with that all by myself?!
RUSSIA: Ahhh. Hard one. He is very happy, most times. He... he does not listen very well, ha. But he always— ehm, he always wants to make things better. He does everything he can to make things fair. [cough] Are we done here?
