Julie's Pov

 After a loooooong practice with Captain Blood I took a shower. I went to sleep, and the awoke at 4 am in the morning. But when I tried to go back to sleep I couldn't, there was to much on my mind. I tried for 2 hours. Then I gave up and I decided to go to the beach. I know, I know it was 6 am but I couldn't sleep! 

I put on this outfit:

I put my hair in two braid and grabbed a small bag to put things in.

And I tried to leave without waking Connie up. 

[~At the beach~]

I place a towel down and watch the waves. It's calming and clears my mind. The beach is nice in California. The sand is warm. There's a nice sunrise if you go in the morning. There is also a lot of shade from all the palm trees. 

I pulled out a book to read. It was one of my favorites. Harry Potter. I know it's kinda dorky but I really like it. It's also the fourth book. I read for a maybe like half an hour and then people start to come. —I know it sounds rude but I was enjoying the quiet and kinda upset that they interpreted it. — It was a group of surfers. One of then caught me eye. She was really pretty but she looked oddly familiar. I didn't really get a good look at her face but she was wearing a black bathing suit.

She was with two other girls who I assume to be her friends. She was carrying a surf board and had sunglasses resting on her head. 

She looked over at me and gave me a wink after noticing I was staring. Heat bubbled up onto me face, and I quickly looked back at my book. She went off to surf. Even when she looked at me I couldn't see her face, the sun was too bright. 

I started to watch them surf, because there was nothing else to do and I don't want to go back to my dorm and explain everything to Connie. 

The girl was really good at surfing. I have an older brother that surfs and she is much much MUCH better than him.

They get out of the water and got changed, the girl comes over to talk with me. She was wearing this:

"Hey your team USA hockey, right? Julie Gaffney?" She has a nice soft voice

"That's me, and you are?"

"Y/n, Y/n McKay. I think my aunt tutors your team correct?"

Wait? Ms.McKay has a niece? That's why she looks so oddly familiar. 

"Oh, your Ms.McKay's niece? She never told us that. She only thing she said about family was about the family members that live closest to her."

"That's probably why you never heard of me. I live in Hawaii and my mom thought it was a good idea for my aunt to take me too."

We talked for hours because I had a day off.

It was amazing talking to her, she was amazing. SNAP OUT OF IT JULIE YOU JUST MET HER

"Hey, you should come over to my dorm! You could meet my friend, she would love to meet you." I say happily.

She lightly chuckled.

"That sounds nice."

We walked over to my dorm and Connie was sitting on her bed reading a book.

"Hey Jules who's your friend?" Connie says not looking up from her book.

"This is Y/n McKay, she is Ms,McKay's niece."

She looks up from her book confused.

"Do you play hockey?"

"No?"

"Ok, do you surf?"

"Yes."

"Ok you can stay. Those are the top two sports that I accept. There is five more but, since you surf you can stay." Connie says

"Ok?" Y/n says confused

We all talk about girl drama and other stuff. When it's around 2pm Y/n had to leave. I was quite sad that she left. She made me feel happy, really REALLY happy. 

"Soooo, are we not going to talk about you and Y/n???" Connie says while smiling.

"No we're not. I just met her. But she was super pretty."

"YES I KNEW IT."

I rolled my eyes and started to unpack my bag I went to the beach with. It was everything I put in there. Book, sunglasses, sunscreen, and water. At the bottom of my bag was a small folded piece of white paper. Connie looks at me then the paper several times. I unfold it to see that Y/n put it in there. It read:

Your surfer girl <3

I blushed a dark red, and Connie noticed. She grabbed the note as I held my head in my hands to try to stop my blushing. Connie starts to become hyper, VERY hyper. 

I just had the most amazing day in my whole life. I met the girl of my dreams. She gave me her number. And my best friend approves of her.
