Chapter 5

It is the dead of night as I sneak through the halls to a janitor closet a floor above the lab. I pull out a vial of the vibranio acid and splash it onto the ground at my feet. The floor began to melt away with ease as the acid made a slight sizzling sound. I press a button on my gloves I'm wearing causing them to glow a light shade of blue. I stuck my hands onto one of the walls of the janitors closet as the floor underneath completely melted away. I slowly lowered down and into the lab.

"Damn I'm really breaking into a wakandian lab to ruin The wakandian princesses' project, If I don't get caught I would make a good Shield agent."

I thought to myself as I made my way to Shuri's private lab. I found a small device on her table along with notes on how it works.

"Wow she built a quantum thantic revolving durminator, if only she put this much effort into not being a bitch."

I thought chuckling to myself as sudden a voice came on.

"Shuri is that you?"

A voice spoke which I then realized is her A.I., Grio. I decided to not speak and continue what I came here to do, I poured the vibranio acid on device only for an alarm to start blaring. I jumped a bit and made my escape using the table to get high enough to get on the ceiling and back out the hole. I quickly pull out another vial and threw it at the hole causing nano bots to form over the hole and make a hologram that looks exactly like the floor. I casually made my way back to my room with a devious smirk on my face as Dora malije moved past me and to the lab. I made it back to my room and crashed onto my bed falling asleep.

It was the morning and I had gone to collect my device for the competition in my living room but it was destroyed. I took a pair of glasses and put them on tapping the side and flipping them to infrared which showed footprints differing from my own coming from my balcony.

"That fucking bitch."

I thought but instead of being mad I couldn't help but smile.

"I can't believe we both did that."

I chuckled and attempted to fix my device. The afternoon came and I met up with Shuri in the lab to show off both of our devices. I looked at those gathered and some of the representatives of the tribal council had shown up, even king M'baku had shown up to see the competition. I was getting a little nervous, if I didn't win then they would see me as lesser than or worse might not find me useful anymore. I can't think like that, I have to keep confident. I decide to let Shuri show off her invention but a realization hit while I eyed her device.

"That's not the one that was on the table."

I mumbled under my breath. She smirks at me when I notice and that's when it all clicked, she set up a decoy device for me to destroy. I couldn't help but applaud the move but I was still pissed.

"Today I will be showing you all the concussive repeller."

She gets activates the device then grabs a gun and shoots at it only for the bullet to immediately fly backwards and roll onto the ground. The crowd clapped politely. They turned to look at me, I gulped a little but stifled a smile.

"Today I bring you here to show you the multiversal mirror."

I took a deep breath praying to anybody that could hear me that my machine still worked. I flicked a lever and the machine roared to life with a light blue glow showing many different paths and destinations I could take.

"As you can see this device shows the possible futures and outcomes of those fut-"

The machine began to pulsate going from a light blue to a wild purple as the paths faded away showing only my own reflection looking back.

"Uh wha-"

As an explosion of white filled my vision. I woke up in a field, a beautiful purple Aurora borealis cascading across the sky giving everything a dark purplish tint. I started to walk forwards until I stepped into a strangely deep puddle which my foot then my whole leg sank in. I pull my leg out and look inside, I could see something underneath the surface but it was too blurry to tell what it was.

"Only one way to find out."

I mumbled before I take a deep breath and stick my head in. I first see a heart shape petal being split in two before wilting then I see myself with a spear stabbed into my chest as the wakandian palace is being burned in the distance. I see a figure that I can't quite make out standing in front of me; watching the palace burn.

"Who are you?"

I squeaked out weakly spitting out some blood from my mouth. The figure was beginning to turn around but before I could get a glimpse as to who this person was I woke up gasping for air. I looked around frantically, Shuri was crouched over me looking quite worried. She had her bead bracelet resting on my chest which had restarted my heart.

"Are you okay? That explosion stopped your heart."

Shuri explained but I wasn't worried about my condition I was worried about what I saw. Who was that strange person? Did they stab me and burn wakanda? What was that petal? I stood up and looked around seeing everyone look at me and thanking their gods I wasn't dead.

"I'm...fine."

I spoke but based on whatever that vision was, I don't know how long that will be true.
