((A/N alternate ending starts off when Mazie's cinematic record was ending, after Ciel saw the journal entry))

Her cinematic record came to the end all too quickly, however, Grell decided that she would continue to live. Mazie passed out from all her blood loss and woke up a few hours later and of the Phantomhive manor bandaged and no longer bleeding. She sat up, using a lot of effort in the process, (because of weakness from her loss of blood), confused of where she was. She whispered, "where am I... and why aren't I dead?" She turned in the bed and let her feet dangle over the side, immediately noticing that she had been changed out of her bloodied dress and into a silk nightgown that fell just a few inches below her knees. "I don't own any silk nightgowns..." She mumbled, still very confused... "I'm definitely not in my home, I don't recognize the room at all..." She walked to the door and put her hand on the doorknob. She then opened the door and inch or two and peaked into the hallway, opening the door fully after assuring nobody was in the hallway. "If I'm not in my home... Then whose home am I in...?" She muttered slipping quietly into the hallway. As she walked through the halls of the mansion, holding the wall for support, she held the now-bandaged wound on her stomach-area. "I definitely wasn't having a nightmare... Janie really did attempt to kill me." Mazie peeked around the corner and immediately recognized a certain demon butler that fancies cats very much. So I'm in Ciel's manor...?
Mazie walked to the all-too-familiar room where she and Ciel had played chess so many times. The sight she was met with was rather unsettling... Ciel was sitting in his chair at the chess table with his face in his hands. She softly knocked on the open door and placed a hand on her bandages. "Ciel...?" He looked up slowly, as he slowly realized who the girl in the doorway was, he rushed over to her. "Mazie, you should be laying down... You shouldn't be walking around with your injury..." "I'm not weak... I refuse to lay in a bed like a weak child." She replied. "You technically are a child..." "So are you Ciel." She retorted. He looked away, knowing that he had lost the argument. Mazie smiled cunningly, "why are you so worried about me?" His gaze immediately met hers, "I-I'm not! I just don't want to lose a business partner..." He trailed off. She smirked, "you care about me, don't you...?" "n-no."
At this, she smacked him across the cheek, his face turning to the right. "stop lying! You think you are the only one who can tell if you're lying, well you're not!" Ciel's fingertips lightly touched the new handprint-shaped marking on his left cheek. "I-I'm sorry Ciel, I got carried away..." She apologized. "No, I apologize for being so ignorant and lying... Don't apologize for keeping me in-check." Ciel admitted.
They were interrupted by a knock on the door. "Young master, tea is ready." Sebastian stated as he opened the door. Before Ciel could respond, Mazie said "thank you Sebastian." "You are very welcome Ms. Arabeth." Mazie smiled, she always did when someone called her 'Ms. Arabeth'... it reminded Mazie of her adoptive mother.
After tea, Mazie and Ciel began a chess match. "Don't go easy on me Ciel..." Mazie smirked. "I won't. Just tell me when you give up." He replied. "I'll keep playing until I win. I won't give up." She challenged as she made the first move.
