A few years ago, I sketched a crossover fanfiction between a famous movie and the X-Men saga, which featured a mutant with the powers of Jean Grey.
The idea remained in a drawer, until a few weeks ago.
In the grip of a new inspiration, the project has turned into a different crossover and not new in the comic book world, in which there are connections between the Avengers and the X-men, who find themselves both allies and opponents, thanks to the pencils of skilled cartoonists of Marvel Comics.
In my work you overcome the crossover, because
one of the characters is among the protagonists of the Star Wars saga: Poe Dameron, the charming actor Oscar Isaac, here in a slightly different guise.
As anticipated in the pitch of the fanfiction, the paths of the X-Men and Avengers teams cross in a moment of basic meeting for their future collaboration, desired by the American government, in order to defend as strong as possible in the event of clashes with increasingly powerful opponents.
The Avengers team consists of the six original heroes. Unlike the end of the film "The Avengers" of 2012, in which each member of the Avengers takes their own path, in the fanfiction that you will read the six heroes have remained in the location of New York "employed" by Nick Fury, and train at the Headquarters, ready to fight.
From a chronological point of view, therefore, the story begins between "The Avengers" and "Age of Ultron", with some references taken from the latter film.
As for the X-Men, their temporal collocation was more complex and I had to exploit their age to a coherence of global narrative with the rest of the work.
You will find the main characters of the saga, with Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr veterans by age of the group and some of the other more famous, slightly younger.
Clint Barton, my love as a fangirl, will be the protagonist of the love story, which will take place in parallel with the events involving the two teams.
The Hawk will clash with Julia Green, a portentous mutant and young man with a particular character, nicknamed Phoenix.
Julia is a telepath frightened by any contact with humans who, at first approach, will create a mental interconnection with the archer, particularly engaging for both, and, together, upsetting.
The deep reading of Clint's mind will lead Fenice to reconsider his qualities and to approach him, in a friendship with romantic and sentimental traits, spurred on by Professor X, who sees in the man the ideal person to help the student in a path of maturation.
In mutual knowledge, a simple human and a powerful mutant will face an unexpected enemy and clash with their complex differences; the positive approach to the theme of diversity and social tolerance is the line that motivated the creation of the X-Men comic and I really wanted to propose it again, in a different way from the inspiration that Kirby and Lee had.
"The Falcon and the Phoenix" will be a fanfiction pervaded by an extremely sentimental atmosphere, with many references to "Romeo and Juliet" by William Shakespeare, for the narrative reasons that you will read later, and implications, however, less dramatic.
The character of Julia Green, obviously inspired by that of Jean Grey, has the features of the Turkish actress Tuba Büyüküstün.
In the story you will find some hints of elements to the Disney series "Hawkeye".
